The mods for Bethesda games

My Mum bought me a new computer, so I uploaded all my mods from the old computer to Mega.co.nz - I have separate folders for Morrowind, Oblivion, FO3, FNV, and Skyrim. Most of my mods are for Skyrim. Almost all of them, in fact.

When I went to download the mods from Mega to the new computer, all the ones for Skyrim had been deleted! Argh! The folder was empty! The other games' mods were still there.

Do you know of any reason why Mega would delete all my Skyrim game mods?

TIA if you know why.

Hi,

well, I don't know why they should delete your mods, but why don't you use an external memory medium for your data transfer and backups, for example an external HDD with USB 3.0 or something? This is much faster and safer than loading up your stuff and then redownloading it.

They may have been deleted because, though it was not your intent, it looked as if copyright files were being uploaded (which is a no-no.) I can not confirm that but it could have been a reason. They may not have gotten to the others.

Sorry to say but re-install the game and re-download your mods. Yes keeping a copy on an external drive of some sort is best.

If you wish to become a premium member for any length of time you can access your entire download history here (which is helpful) but of course that is a voluntary thing.

Good luck!

Many thanks to you, Ulthar Seramis, and you Lisnpuppy, for your advice. I'll get myself a small external plug-in drive as soon as I can, and yes, there were so many Skyrim mods, about 40 of them I think, that Mega must have thought I was breaking copyright laws or something.

I will indeed become a premium member shortly -- it's so cheap!
