lol, some computer technicians make me feel smarter

Recommended Posts

Ok, because I'm 15(soon to be 16), my parents believe I'm too "young" to know jack **** about the computer. Therefore, I'm stuck working over the phone with this computer technician guy who's controlling my mom and dad's vista remotely. Since he realized I knew most of what I was talking about, he didn't treat me like an idiot, so that was nice. However, the dude setup our wireless security with a WPA passphrase. So naturally I'm like "What the hell?" since NDS Wi-Fi isn't compatible with WPA. I just played along, then as soon as I was off the phone with him, I change the security settings to 128-bit WPE =/ God, people like that make me feel so smart. Dunno if this fits 100% in this section, but whatever. Move if you want to, I'm just rambling on.

Did you tell him that he needed to configure it to facilitate the use of an outmoded/outdated technology to support your Nintendo DS.

Most IT professionals, will configure your router to the highest available/possible security settings. Unless you tell them that you need it lowered to support something specific.

If I can hit your wireless wifi router, I can crack the WEP security within 10 seconds and take control of your computer, router and everything connected to your router anything on it is mine and since I know everything on your computer it belongs to the world.

But of course you know that since you are so wise. Look up the term WarDriver sometime.

But there are steps you can take to preclude that, but you know that already.

Now when your parents personal information is posted on the net and their identities are stolen, you can proudly state that you are responsible for their ruin.

But remember you could use your DS, wonderful trade off don't you think.

What do I do for a living, I install HSI networking for a major communications company, set up WIFI networks for fortune 500 companies. I was using, installing computers 20 years before you were born. Back in the good old days when a bug in the system was just that, a bug (insect) in the system.

Yup, the dam insects use ta short out the vacuum tubes, (bright flash and a damn awful smell, and the lights went down all over), that's right, children, the vacuum tubes that came before the transistors (now some would point out that the vacuum tubes were transistors, but don't get me sidetracked), that came before, integrated circuits, course nowadays, they just call them the chips. (And I thought chips were just something you ate) I remember a time when I knew everything as well, course it was so long ago, I forgotten when it was. Starting to forget the answers to the questions, I knew a year ago. Did I ever tell you about the time... nevermind, can't remember.

Laughing out loud,

Now please don't get mad at me Buddha, I just couldn't resist a good laugh, clearly you are just as sharp as you ever were. Just ask Ben who keeps telling me that he, and I need to have a sitdown about the increasing frequency of MY senior moments over at his library. LOL. This is the technical support department right? Clearly, I have been up way too long... and the bacteria are beginning to short out my own cranial nervous system. I know, let's go get some coffee...
