Maknwavs
I wish there was ONE follower out there that was capable of following. Every follower out there is incapable of following. Supposedly following me and when I stop, they continue running...passing me by more than 500 yards. Following along and when I stop they keep right on going and run into me pushing hard enough to knock me off a cliff and kill me. Following along and get attacked but bandits..I kill all 5 bandits and loot them..look around and find the follower just in time for them to run up yelling about killing the bandits.I know all this sounds funny, but it really is not if you think about it. There are many games that have followers like this and not one of them has this problem. I have played Skyrim for years and I love the game, but there is not one follower that works. 1. Does not over run me.2. Does not bump into me or push me.3. Does not get lost.4. Does not fall behind. These 4 conditions should not be a problem. Any follower is run by the computer. The computer is guaranteed to react faster than any human. Supersaiyangoku84
sounds pretty weird , i never had those type problems with my followers aside from them bumping into me in tight spaces like taverns and sometimes blocking doors till they finally move around me but they never run past me or get lost or fall behind more than 5 or 10 foot behind me always , maybe its not the followers but some mod that your using that makes them do that ? im not sure but i think theres a mod that prevents you from being pushed around by others , maybe try a diff follower program i use Ufo but theres others that may work better for you theres nethers follower framework , amazing follower tweaks , and extensible follower framework and others id try one of those and see if they help if not it may be due to some other mod your using

Gorgopis
We've had some success with Nether's Follower Framework, which allows some in-game tweaking to Followers' behaviors, as long as you add an NPC to the framework when the prompt comes up on screen. Almost any well-established SE follower can be added\tweaked into the framework, we have found. Personally, we like some followers hanging back, and some rushing in, especially followers rushing in that have unusual powers, like 'disarm', or 'unrelenting force'. It's fun to watch! We can always replay an earlier save, if we want to try it differently, tweaking the followers. Also, when we have a dungeon or area where we enjoy fighting the NPC's or bosses, we can first set all followers to "wait" somewhere while we go ahead and grow some experience. So, we guess, basically, a good follower-mod will leverage the computer hw-computing and SR SE software programming to make those followers behave! M73 & G. Gunslinger808
I use Amazing Follower Tweaks. You can set each of your follower(s) fighting style including whether or not they’ll attack, set following distances, whether they use magic and what spells they can use, and so on. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/6656
Laerithryn
I second, Nether's Follower Framework. I used to use Amazing Follower Tweaks but switched to Nether's when I found that it does everything AFT does plus tons more. Customization with Nether's is off the charts. And with support for up to 10 followers, not that I need that many. I'm normally happy running around with 2 or 3 but rarely more. Unless I'm running with my Taarakian followers then I might run with more simply for the eye candy.
Moksha8088
Mod companions ideally should have warp capabilities built in. Vilja has it and so does Sofia. Heather and Willow from the Fallout universe also possess this capability. Nether's Frameworks adds it for those companions able to work with it.
