Biiiiiig problems

So... I doubt this is even something that can be fixed but this is my hail Mary pass. I've put together a LO that's horribly broken and I don't know how to fix it. Visually, it looks great and I'm not getting any CTDs... however, there are more glitches than I can shake a (figurative) stick at. First... it keeps shifting me from 1st person to 3rd person randomly. Second, I can't sleep. I have Go To Bed installed but as soon as I try to access the sleep menu, it gets me out of bed. Third... Serana won't follow me. I freed her from Dimhollow but she just stand there. I haven't even tried any console commands to fix Serana because the game is just systemically broken so there's really no point. Okay so... only 3 glitches really but they're biggies.

 

I tested like mad putting this together... but never tested any of these things. I am running over 500 mods including one LE mod (I did the CAO, CK thing to make it SE compatible) and a couple of the 'naughty site' mods so I could get rid of the drunken revellers. Because I hate the drunken revellers. After months of trying to learn SSEEdit... I'm still clueless about conflict resolution. If anyone has any ideas as to where I can even start to sort through this mess, I'd appreciate the hell out of it. It took me close to 100 hrs to put this together... and it actually stressed me out more than any game should so I'm not ready to tear it down but it's totally unplayable at this point.

 

Someone should open a service to remotely fix peoples LOs... I'll bet they could make some good $$$!

for me, can't sleep issues are either

a) buff related

b) glitch related

 

for the first, check your buffs to see if you have a disease. Some diseases have weird effects on actions and we don't always notice we have them. I've had them block me from fast travel, using spells, even running. Not sure if any ever prevented me from sleeping, but can't hurt to check.

 

for the second, for some reason, in certain situations, tai gets turned OFF for the player but is never reset to ON at the end of the event. (for instance, an animation sequence that as a normal setup thing turns off your player ai for the duration, but which is then interrupted by an unexpected enemy attack - ex: troll strike, or a bandit's arrow...reset can fail sometimes, sometimes leaving you unable to properly use the camera, sometimes leaving you walking in place, sometimes leaving you unable to interact with objects, etc), console player.tai will tell you if this is the case and fix it too (if tai is the cause). if it responds with "player AI is on" or something like that, you've fixed the issue, if it says "player AI is off" or something like that. then run the command once more to turn it back on, and look for the next candidate issue.

 

Oh....and I think certain NSFW mods can cause the player to be unable to sleep due to high arousal state. (but don't quote me on that)

your 1st/3rd person shifting could just be a bum wheel on a mouse (hardware issue, don't count em out!),. If it's a mod, idk....I'd check your camera mod or maybe that last one "occlusion" (which sounds like it's fiddling with views)

Thanks for the tips... I think I've got it figured out though. At least I hope I do. The sleeping was entirely an oversight by me. Apparently there was a change to the mod and you now have to access the 'wait' screen to sleep. The camera and another problem I was having with NPCs re-equipping clothing and armour seem to have fixed themselves once I removed Key Item Distributor. Not saying it's the fault of that mod... more than likely it was how I was using it (I only had it installed as another mod needed it). As for the Serana glitch... I'll have to go another hour or so into the game to see if that's sorted. If not... I'll likely be back on here hoping another kind soul can help me out.

 

edit: Serana still pooched. Maybe it's time for me to go and get a job...
