Question about SE/AE compatibility

I'm working on an update for my "Arma Thalmoris" mod and wanted to know if it will be compatible with the new "Anniversary Edition" of Skyrim. I currently have Skyrim Special Edition installed, but might, at some point in the future, update to the Anniversary Edition.

As a mod author, will I now have to manage two different versions of the mod concurrently (one for SE, one for AE), or can the SE one work with both versions?

The only difference between an up-to-date SSE and an up-to-date SAE are the extra Creation Club mods. Thus a mod designed on SSE will technically work on SAE. The only concern would be if your mod conflicted with one of the CC mods. But that has always been the case since CC was introduced.

You can manage one version until such time as you are aware of and have ability to deal with any conflict with regards to CC mods. And then at that point, you can host two files on the same mod page.

In addition to the post above:

Almost everything that works in SE will also work in AE. The only exception are mods that are using .dll files and/or are dependent on Adress Library. Those need to be adjusted / recompiled / partly rewritten.

If your mod doesn't doesn't fall into this category, everything will be fine.
