CTD after sleeping/waiting

Hi guys

 

i'm searching for help. I'm currently in the middle of a Skyrim playthrough.

I now have around 50h invested in that charactar. I some mods installed.

Now everytime i wait or sleep and go near riverwood i get a ctd.

Hey. i had the same problem you got and i went through your mod list and tried to disable the one's we both have. and when i disabled "Live another life mod" my crashes stopped. I hope it helps you as it has helped me. i think its because i havent started the main quest yet. Thank you for posting your mod list. without it i probably would have gone nuts and uninstall skyrim completely.

 

So what im proposing is that you disable the mod (not uninstall).

Travel to helgen so you have discovered the location. (probably the source of the crashes)

Open the console and type: setstage MQ102 30 (if you havent started the main quest wich i highly doubt you have)

Save and close the game.

Activate the mod again and start the game.

That did it for me anyway. i can fast travel, go near riften, wait and sleep without crash to desktop. so i think if we are going to use the mod in the future then we probably should start the main quest at once.

 

p.s Just came back to say that i think you need to uninstall the mod. it breaks the game for me. ive played on a new character now with the mod uninstalled and i havent had a crash in several hours. cheers

How come we have the exact same problem and when i disable live another life mod the game runs great? it may conflict with some other mod we have. I can live without alternate start. its just the first 15 minutes anyways.

 

And BTW i use boss to sort my load order and tes5edit to clean the master files and some mods that needs cleaning. i get no warnings from boss. plus i use the enb that reduces the amount of ram i use so i dont get the ram-limit crash. Still i got ctd even on completely new characters. But when i uninstalled Alternate start ive had very few crashes.

Well besides the obvious mod conflicts, disable helgen reborn until after you've discovered helgen.

I think I may have found a cause/solution.
I had the same issue followed by regular ctd which I attributed to save bloating and corruption so installed the save hotkey mod to avoid overwriting saves files. This issue started again on my current playthrough, so I went back to the last save when I could sleep without CTD and started testing to see where it became corrupted.
It seems that as soon as the Dawnguard quest starts so do the ctd, I tested this successfully a few times to be sure that it was the quest. I then tried to start the quest by console command on the last save I was able to sleep but the quest didn't start at stage 5 and i was still able to sleep. So I went to the nearest town in order to receive the quest from a guard (as I was previously doing during testing) and ctd again. I repeated but then I checked to see what stage the quest was and even though the quest had started and should be at stage 5 it remained at 0. So I set the quest stage to 5 and I was suddenly able to sleep without ctd.

I'm not sure whether the cause is a conflict with a mod or whether my game will remain stable as I haven't continued to play, but I'm fairly certain that I've found the cause.

Damn it is "live another life". I disabled mine and it suddenly started working properly again. THANK GOODNESS!!!!!! Been thinking it was other mods like my follower mods. I disabled Live another life on my current save and BAM! Started working again. I can now sleep at last! :D

I did as you explained but it appears that for me it isnt the problem I still crash after waiting or sleeping.

I got this problem as well. I turned off autosave just to be on the safe side. But after I sleep I get instant CTD. I do usse live another life. I'll go get the main quest and see if that helps.
