NAPALM13092
I have Vista Home Premium and have never had a problem with any game including Oblivion all my programs and everything work flawlessly and I think Vista is awesome it just doesn't agree with some peoples hardware but on my PC it is the best operating system I've ever used
Qwaxalot
its not the problem of vista i suppose you got a new update or sevice pack ? this is the one great problem i just got the same problems on windows xp after dowloading service 3 it seems the game got trouble with the new microsoft security routines wich also got problems with net framework so that obmm sometimes wont work.... but that even wont help you cos stupid idiots from microsoft never ad an option to get rid of their worthless updates You don't HAVE to use automatic updates. And every time you do install an update, windows creates a restore point. So you can roll back. Every update (except a service pack update) can be uninstalled. Maybe that has changed with the Advent of DLC for FALLOUT 3. I ended up buying the KOTN Diskette in order to install the DLC, before my KOTN disk arrived I even tried to installing to an XP machine I have, and then copying the files to my Vista Oblivion directory. That did work, actually.
ClosingGap
Vista is fine, i don't see why people moan about it. Only a small majority complain because their computer was made before 1998 and can't run it due to the fact that you need 1gb of RAM for the OS itself. They then tell their friends who tell their friends who tell their friends (etc.) and it gets passed about that it's terrible when it's not. EVERY game that i have runs on Vista perfectly and yes, Oblivion and its' DLC works.

The DLC works fine, but BETHESDA TECH SUPPORT told me themselves on the phone that the Installer is not compatible with Vista, when I downloaded the content from the online store. The CD-Rom version works fine, and if you install it on XP and copy it to Vista it works fine, and if you go get the Universal Installer, I've heard that works fine but I never fooled around with it enough to get it to work. That's the point.

It really fixes a lot of stabilty issues As far as DLC goes, the Universal extractor works just fine for either 32 bit or 64 bit Vista. Hang on a minute and I'll get the link. NeciFiX
What the hell? DLC mods work on Vista, just not 64-bit. Well, actually, that might not even be true. There ARE methods that have been known to get them to work. Plus, I have Vista 64-bit with the Shivering Isles on it.

Darkf0rge
I cant stand vista. Mainly because I work in tech support and I always come across clients who are trying to use it on machines that have no business running it. The thing is a horrible bloated system resource. Hopefully they get things right with windows 7, because at the moment I almost find myself calling vista, windows ME
