wghost81
virtualJuke, thanks. We found a way around hex changing problem: both PatchUPK and UPKModder are now support named object references, so no more lost work due to new patch. Modding XCOM is less frustrating now. Edited May 23, 2014 by wghost81
Zyxpsilon
I may be asking too much but here goes anyway... -- Would it be possible to alter text colors for PsiXP (line and values) as their default "Psionic Light Violet"? This might be due to my personal obsession with neat colors for most UI stuff (Refer to my ReCLR projects!) and i've got no weird excuses for such a demand. It just makes the whole experience less "Firaxis Design" CYAN everywhere. Example; the yellow (+) bonuses are fairly indicative of variable details -- as such, they're almost essential for comprehensive reality. Thus, mobility or XP facts could be getting more obvious if they'd have a unique & specific coloring schema. -- I found the formatting for these mod-inserts a bit crooked in places. It's hard to explain... but it feels like the available space isn't exploited how it really could (or should). Again, i'm possibly over-reacting here with such a silly observation. The current vanilla framework might be limited to any (more) adjustments though. IF anything can be done to fine-tune the display of these values - it would feel more integrated in the actual UI design. Thanks for adding PSI-XP, btw! EDIT; Ooooppss... i suddenly realize this comment should have been made into wghost81's Interface Tweaks thread instead. Consider it from here, nevertheless -- please. Edited May 27, 2014 by Zyxpsilon
wghost81
Formatting is bad, because we don't have control over interface. All we can do is add new information to some existing "field".
Zyxpsilon
Oh yeah... that's right. I had completely forgotten many if not all of these UI assets are built by (and from) some highly customized SWF files and functions. So it's no surprise that centering and/or margins control aren't really available to anyone *adding* new stuff to the default framework. I (or we!) could only wish Firaxis devs (soooooo busy that they are while a Linux port is getting near release!) would provide us with some formal design tools to do such precision modding. Oh well - didn't hurt anyone to ask, i guess. One day --- may be!
