Luthiel_Dragonsoul
ok, ya just thought of this woke up, got outa bed and wrote this, lol, wouldnt it be cool if: 1- say u became head of telvanni for example (telvanni might not be in Oblivion) and then hlaau (or something) because of npc scheduale decided to destroy your outposts, and then you took aout all of telvanni's forces and killed the poo out of hlaau's main base- cool 2- ok, u want to go out and buy a house, u go talk to some people who you learn are selling the house by: newspaper, word of mouth, anyways and you buy it off them, and they move to a better house!!!!, and then an npc comes along and wants to buy it from you!!!!!!! yours sincerelyLuthiel Dragonsoul
Slaiv
say u became head of telvanni for example (telvanni might not be in Oblivion) and then hlaau (or something) because of npc scheduale decided to destroy your outposts, and then you took aout all of telvanni's forces and killed the poo out of hlaau's main base- coolUhh, what? What would NPC schedule have to do with Hlaalu invading Telvani [sp?]? At any rate, I would assume that houses are going to be in it. Bethesda takes notice of these things [a.k.a. the thousands of requests for and various productions of housing mods.] Hey, can someone merge the other thread [by Chaosmaker] with this? They're the same thing....
Luthiel_Dragonsoul
because slaiv, according to pc gamer mag, december edition, the schedule, gives npc's personality's (unique personality's) and also that it gives npc'c, with some power in the game (head of house; archmagister etc.) their own private agenda that can change with the slightest interference, lol, im sorry i did not make this more clear in my erlier posting, yours sincerelyLuthiel Dragonsoul
Slaiv
I got that much, but why would attacking house Telvanni be part of your daily schedule?
Fuzion Shockwave
One of the main things for me is- I hope characters will do more than standing around all day, waiting for me to talk to them.

Abramul
Fuzion, NPC schedules, as such, will likely NOT exist. However, with Radiant AI, NPCs will respond to wants and needs, so they will move around, get a beer, head home to get some sleep, and whatever. Bear in mind, that's not from any particular interview/announcement, but rather my interpretation of the ones I've read.I do hope, though, that they will work for money, rather than slowly regenning it. Slaiv
Actually, they do exist. From the Gamespy Preview/Interview:The beauty of Oblivion is Bethesda's new "Living World" system, which means that the choices you make will be reflected in the world around you. "We've really gotten much better at this," Howard says when discussing the living world of Oblivion. "We're really focusing this time on how people in the world react to you, because that's the most fulfilling thing about being good or bad or in-between." The game sports a new "Radiant AI" system that Howard says is best described as a combination of Ultima 7 and The Sims. Rather than following pre-scripted paths, every NPC is given a set of general goals they'd like to achieve, but the details of fulfilling that goal is entirely up to them. If a citizen is hungry, they'll look for a way to get food. They might buy food, hunt it, or steal it, then find a place to sit to eat and so on. This means that every one of the game's 1,000 NPCs follows a full 24/7 schedule that continues whether or not the player is there to witness it. It also means that the NPCs react to each other, so a townsperson who decides to steal a loaf of bread in full view of the guards may find himself under arrest. It also means that everything the player does in the game that's witnessed by NPCs is processed and remembered by them, who will then use that information to decide how to react to you. Interactions are governed by what the player has done to them, what groups or guilds they're both a member of, whether the player has messed with anyone in their family and what their general reputation in the Empire is. Players who just watch the NPCs going about their daily lives will often witness townsfolk in unscripted dynamic conversations gossiping about what's going on in the kingdom and what rumors and news is currently hot.
