Deadly reflex problem

make sure any other mods you might have, have a chance to intialize before you set deadly reflex. I had much the same problem when I first used it. The trick was to wait until I stopped recieving messages regarding the various mods I had installed and then it would accept my key presses

1.) Make sure you have the most recent patch for Oblivion. If you do not download it here, http://www.bethsoft.com/eng/downloads_01.html If you run Shivering Isles install the most recent Shivering Isles patch instead.

2.) Make sure you have enabled the HorseCombatMaster.esm that comes with Deadly Reflex 5.

3.) Run Oblivion with the newest version of the Oblivion Script Extender or OBSE. You can download it here, http://obse.silverlock.org/

4.) As a precaution it's usually best to have the Deadly Reflex 5 - Combat Moves.esp as the last mod in your load order. You can put it at the bottom of the list with the Oblivion Mod Manager, or OBMM, which you can download here, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2097

That should cover everything. I've heard your symptoms before, and it's usually a result of not following one of the 4 steps I've listed. So make sure you have all that in order and the mod should run fine. :)

Takes awhile for that stuff to happen on a new character because I think its tied to your weapon skills somewhat. If you arent using a new character, try setting it to 100, and testing.

I found the same thing, I would suggest installing some mods to ramp up the difficulty of combat as well.

it's all listed in the readme. If you havent read it, do so .... now :whistling:

It also sounds like you have a problem with the installation like it hasnt been done properly. Again read the read me, and try again.

Make sure it isnt conflicting with other mods you are using as well, and make sure it is last in your load order.

I am having some issues also, I have read everything, about 15 times over, and it feels to me like a compatibility issue, or something close to the affect. I reinstalled the game, fresh and new, it's from steam.com, but they updated the obse, so it works for steamusers, so after frantically hoping someone does something about obse, I get it to work then download OBMM and deadly reflexes, I install deadly reflexes first, then OBMM, and make reflexes load last so it works, everything seems to be up and running, I can shield bash, and dodge (v.5 of deadly reflexes you can't horse combat) but the blood doesn't seem to be splashing on my armor, the shading is the same, I put criticals to 100% and nothing is happening, the game works, it's just the criticals aren't working it seems, along with the sounds, meshes, and other things, if I can get some help, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Holy thread jack Batman! The last two posters need to start your own threads about your issues. Each individual will have very different setups from hardware to software, and mods installed.

Jordan01... Use periods. That is a ridiculous run-on sentence. Instead of a thousand commas hit the key beside it, a period. It will make your post actually readable. But do so in your own topic.

To the OP: Your last post mentioned you have yellow exclamation points. That indicates you are missing a mesh. You need to ensure you installed all files from Deadly Reflex to their proper directories. I suggest you read the ReadMe.

You may also need to update Archive Invalidation. If you're not sure what that it is or how to do so just read the information contained in the link I just directed you to.
