kennyimpala
there is a really good anti trojan and addware called trojan remover, it removes unknown viruses that cannot be cleaned with anything else.
HemmyLane52
Thank you all for the posts and suggestions, I've took up the suggestion of LHammonds of using malwarebytes I ran a full system scan and it found things which i deleted (this problem was occuring with superantivirus software, the software always seems to find problems and delete them but I still see pop ups and the little icon, it's a real downer because I don't feel like playing oblivion until i get this problem taken care of) but the problem still occurs. I guess I'll try my luck with trojan remover.
LHammonds
Don't forget the other anti-malware listed in the tutorial. MalwareBytes is just the most recent program that I do not have listed in that article. Try these as well: Microsoft Malicious Software Removal ToolComodo BO CleanSpybot Search and DestroyWindows DefenderAdaware EDIT: I have updated the article to include newer software. I looked into Trojan Remover but I cannot recommend it since it is trialware and only works for 30 days. LHammonds
Frodric
Ok one of the best pieces of advice in this thread was AUTORUNS. Go to sysinternals.net and download it. Set it to ignore all microsoft apps and then browse down the list of stuff that runs on start up. You can track down the app that reinfects you and then shut it off, once shut off you can wipe it out completely.
bben46
Those bogus spyware programs are some of the hardest to get rid of because the real antispyware companies are wary of being accused of removing a competitor. I have used a-squared Hijack Free to successfully remove them in the past. It's a little more techie and not as easy to use as most others though. HemmyLane52
Thank you allfor lots of replys, I like hearing everyones past problems or reccomendations that helped them before. I tried trojan remover and it actually removed the problem but yea, I noticed the 30 day trial. I hope this certain problem doesn't happen again, but i have a weird feeling it will...... technology these days... but the problem is resolved for now, and thats what i really wanted. Hey maybe i shouldn't be worrying about the future.. the world might end in 2012! :(
TheTerminator2004
Just for future reference, autoruns actually shows a LOT more stuff than whats listed in msconfig, or CCleaner, or any other app I've used for that matter. I'm not sure why a lot of programs aren't show by anything else, a lot of them are pretty irrelevent system files anyway, so Microsoft probably just hides them somehow - which makes it easy for spyware to do so as well.
