Petition : Fallout 3 DLC

I got an idea, do like the guys in Bethesda, and get a JOB!

In the grand scheme of things £8/$10 is nothing.

I paid about that to see "The Knowing", and that was a big waste. DLC lasts about 4 hours or so, costs about as much as a film to see (give or take). If its too much money for you, get a job.

Indeed, it isn't a very large amount of money.

so what if i sold you a lemon car you'd be pissed as hell every nickle and dime adds up its more the point they have strayed from their tradition fan base of people with brains and moved to drooling zombies buying anything their over hyped and over charged crap has to stop

No need to be rude. Everyone can have its own opinion on this.

Did anyone here bought Knights of the Nine, an Oblivion DLC? $2 for a DLC of about 4 hours awesome gameplay. It sold like crazy, BS earned thousands of dollars with it, and everyone who bought it was happy about it. Don't you think the DLC should be like that?

BS needs to see that it is possible to earn an equal amount of money by lowering prices (maybe even more), because players who are happy about it, encourage friends to buy the DLC too, and will buy even more DLC in the future.

Plus, if BS would lower its prices right away, thousands of players would grab their chance to get it, which would earn BS another $2 000. Fair deal, right?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for someone (American or Brittish, or else VERY good in English) who can write a nice, polite, and yet persuading letter to send to BS. I will not send it yet, but just so we have it.

You will be rewarded with Kudos. Anyone interested? PM me.

at least a DLC isn't like the $50 for the main Fallout 3!

I think Bethesda thinks the people who really want it (like some of the people on here) will pay that much

but it kinda ruins it for people who play it in their spare time or who can't afford that

and at least try to add something lasting in the game, not just a few sets of armor or an area that you have to stray completely away from the capital wasteland to visit, theres no real lasting characters in the DLCs, or any misc items

I think that getting a Clover type slave from the Pitt would've been nice, something to make it last beyond the couple hours of playtime

yes, the Pitt and Anchorage had their guns and armor, but between the two, there was less than 10 really cool things (maybe even less than 5)

I mean come on Bethesda, give us something worthwhile when its over, like a companion, or a faction, or more stuff than the fairly small amount the DLCs give you

This i agree with.

10 Bucks/Euro/Pounds/Whatever is a rip off...i mean you used to get some very decent expansions of games in the shops at that price and they made a huge diffrence in the game. Hours of play...only example i can think of at that moment is Half-Life Opposing Force, maybe that was 20 pounds (Im british) but it was hours of play. Loads of new content and played like a good game in its own right. This is what i expect of expansions.....the Dawn of War expansions were also very worthwhile. These things are over priced by far...i would say probably 10 pounds for 3 would be a fair deal.

Im a big fan so i did get them but it wasnt worth the money in all honesty.

Also, it gets pirated a lot lately. Expecially because of the fact Games For Windows Live isn't easy to use at all. It is just easier to download a torrent file then buy it! Maybe this would be done less if the price would be reasonable.

They charge $10 because that's what people are willing to pay for it. And, obviously that's working out well for them because they sold so much that they've gone on to make more. That money goes on to get them to make more DLC, and hopefully to make the next Fallout even better. It's why every DLC they've put out this game has gotten consistently better and longer.

There you've got a point. Broken Steel is definately better then Operation Anchorage. Although I spent a longer time playing Operation Anchorage then The Pitt (except for the SteelYard quests). But even still, it's not really worth the money IMO.

exactly^^

I haven't played through BS yet, cause Dr. Li disappeared when you meet her at the Rivet City lab

but it does sound fun

I think Anchorage would've been so much better if the Outcasts hadn't attacked you and you could play through the simulation again and again

and more of a story too

it was just so linear and short, couldn't even rat out your own side (I know it sounds odd, but it would add more depth) to the Chinese, in fact....

I tried writing several mods to make Specialist Olin (the sim depends on her being alive, and she gets killed after you leave the Outcast base, regardless of if you kill the rest) to make her respawn, then to make the sim not be dependent on her (I even made it depend on her being DEAD :P) but it didn't work

thats the major Anchorage disappoint, you can go back to the Pitt, but not to Anchorage, and you need Wernher to go to the Pitt initially, but not after completing it

should be the same way with Olin, almost like you can set it up by yourself after the first time

and more of an Anchorage free play (more areas than the three or so required for the story) thing would be nice, it was kinda boring just running through the three areas, and it was like two seconds to get from your base to where the Chinese were, what horrible defense!

I think you underestimate the power of the casual gamer's wallet.

There's an entire industry devoted to casuals.

However, I agree the DLCs are too expensive, especially Anchorage. That's why I didn't pay for it. ;)

I was happy to sign the petition as I believe they ought to be $5 at most.

I was NOT happy to be automatically asked for more money simply for supporting the petition site. Can we talk about what the production costs are there? There wasn't even an option for no donation and when I chose none of the buttons I was then directed to PayPal to give the site $10. What a crock.
