NikiRandom
I'd love a mod that disables the World Map in dungeons (using the term generically to include above-ground locations) unless you've found/bought/stolen a map for that specific location. For e.g. "Ok followers ... so this is Bleak Falls Barrow. Unfortunately we don't have a map." (Not the best example as it's hard to get lost in vanilla BFB but hopefully that gets the idea across).I'm thinking something along the lines of a mod that, when you arrive at a dungeon, checks for an inventory item (or some other flag) to see if you have a map for that location. And if not then it disables the World Map. Or even better, allows the world map but disables the local view. I've roleplayed this in previous playthroughs. I mean with a set of dice to hand, but it would be great to have a mod that does it. I'd really like to create it myself (in my uninformed mind it doesn't seem that complicated) but I wouldn't know where to start. I'm at the modding stage of being just about able to tweak someone else's mods to my own tastes but I'd really have zero clue where to start with this one. I guess the comnplicated bit would not be disabling the map so much as coding the scenario where you can buy location-specific maps from merchants or fences, or find them or loot them orwhatever.I do know that such a mod (or mods maybe) exist that do this with the world map and compass. That's a great mod and adds immersion, but I'd really love something more location-specific. Edited March 10, 2022 by NikiRandom
cmd673
I'm not sure I understand what you are asking for. You start the game with a world map, so why have that disabled? You start the game with all undiscovered locations hidden, so why not update the world map when you discover a dungeon. Once in the dungeon, your local map only shows that part of the dungeon that you have explored. The one exception to this is when you have a quest marker that floats somewhere off in the distance of the local map in undiscovered territory.
