Is anyone else getting this, or just me?

What's happening is that I registered on here September last year, and my e-mail was accepted fine and has remained the same since. I have just noticed a warning in my control panel that says:

 

EMAIL WARNING

 

Your email address has been changed because it was in use by another account. This means that all email will NOT go to your correct email address - this could include lost password notifcations, etc.

PLEASE change your email address immediately.

 

Now, the only thing I can figure is one of two things has happened:

 

1) Someone has recently registered using my e-mail address, and for some strange reason, it was my account's e-mail address that was changed and not theirs, or;

 

2) The last time I can remember looking in my control panel and NOT seeing this message was before the recent board changes, so it could be that something got cocked up then.

 

So, has anyone else got this (which means it's probably 2), or am I the only one (which means it's probably 1)?

You're not the only one. My alternate account (used for testing things) has the same message. Apparently the new upgrade bans you from having multiple accounts with the same email. Did you ever sign up to download mods before making this account?

Not that I recall. If I did, it must have been well before I registered on this name, and I have totally forgotten that I even did it, far less what name I used. :lol:

 

I wonder - is there a way of recovering a forgotten name? If not, perhaps that's an idea for a feature to be added when Dark0ne has time/can be arsed. ^_^
