Lalaa
Hello, I hope I've put this question in the right section, but apologies if I havent. I've been looking around the internet before I posted this but I haven't really found the answer to what I was looking for. This is a question directed mostly at Morrowind mod users who tend to use multiple companion/quest mods in addition to the Morrowind Overhaul. Although I've played through both Oblivion and SKyrim I have had very little need or want to install texture mods or to improve the graphics. I am, however, someone who loves to use multiple companion and quest mods in my playthrough. So far I've been pretty lucky and have managed to fix or overcome most conflicts. Initially the same was going to be true for Morrowind, with the exception of better bodies and better heads. I'm quite happy to play through Morrowind with the outdated graphics but I'm finding myself very tempted to try out Morrowind Overhaul after viewing some youtube clips. As I said before, though, I'm a big user of companion and quest mods to enhance my gameplay. If Morrowind Overhaul is going to leave me unable to use these mods then I'll stick to the outdated graphics. What I'm asking for is basically a general opinion of users experiences in using ANY companion (i.e. Julan, Jasmine, Constance, Laura Craft etc) and ANY quest mods (i.e. Tamriel Rebuilt/ White Wolf of Lokkun Mountain) in addition to Morrowind Overhaul. Minor conflicts arent a problem, but If using these altogether is going to just be a total write off of a game, well, it'll save me downloading 2gig for nothing. I'll use the Morrowind Overhaul for my next playthrough without any other mods to interfere. Any opinions would be very much appreciated.
Tchos
It depends on the mods, but in general a companion mod doesn't tend to alter the geography, and altering geography is where mods tend to conflict. Tamriel Rebuilt alters geography, but it's in new cells that shouldn't conflict with any companion or quest mods, and what little it does to the normal world is adding a few methods of getting to those new cells, such as an NPC or a boat, which shouldn't prevent you from using both mods even if the companion is placed in the same spot as TR's NPC(s). Quest mods that don't put their content in new cells have the potential of conflicting with any mods that put content in the same cells, but it's usually in the form of one's landscape not matching the other's buildings, or occasionally a building being placed on top of where another mod put an NPC. There are a lot of cells in the game, though, and modders tend to get complaints from users if they happen to choose the same spot, so if it doesn't mention such a conflict in the mod's description, probably no one reported one. Likewise, replacers (such as texture or model replacers) shouldn't conflict, because they don't usually need to actually reshape the geography or physically move or delete anything -- it's just a case of telling the game "use this model/texture instead of that one". I haven't used this overhaul specifically, so I don't know for sure if they did alter the cells, but I'd consider it likely that these mods won't conflict, and it wouldn't be a waste of time to download.
