Gimiq45
Moved game to external hard drive using steam. NMM says file is on a drive with a file system it doesn't recognize or isn't compatible with. I try to start FO4SE using a shortcut made from the file on the drive and it crashes. just shuts down immediately. the original steam shortcut still activates the game normally. StormWolf01
Heyas Gimiq! Ok, I just moved my game from my backups, onto a new laptop a few weeks ago. So hopefully I'll be able to help you out with this.Essentially what I did, was after moving all the actual game files over to the lappy's SSD, I removed F4SE from the newly installed game directory (or folder where you had it, if you put it somewhere else). I did not delete my files or scripts or any of that, from the folder. Just everything else. Then I replaced it all with a fresh version that I keep on an external hard drive. Or re-download it, if you don't have that. Also I don't remember for sure if f4se requires anything like ms dotnet, directx, or the like. But you might want to check that, as well. One other piece of advice. Since you are using an external drive. You NEED to go into your power settings, and make sure that USB is not set for power saving mode. If it is, that could put your connection to your drive to "sleep" where the drive is not actively running. That could cause you some other problems, and cause crashing during play.
