Vampirism...the bane of my scripting existence.

First note that i do not use OBSE. I wish to stay away from it.

Vampirism spell ability seems to initiate the ability to feed. However it also initiates face changes (making it older) the way around it is to alter the vampire age offset in game setting. I am not particularly keen on that, seeing how I do not want my particular kind of vampire aging but all normal vampires can. It is what actually sets them apart.

Is what I am proposing to much. Actually creating two vampire races one with age effects and another without too much? (There is more than you would think that goes into vampirism to make it work) Or is there a way around it?

Well I don't know that I would say impossible since it has been done somewhat before here

You would have to change the script to point to the new race instead of the default vamps but it should make your vamp race somewhat distinct.

Thanks, ill take a look at it. I would like to get the feed animation. If I was able to do that, it would be the perfect work around. So if i was to enable it with out the need of the vampirism ability at...all...it would change everything. Because I would like to change the vampire to be different in the fact it needs to feed to INCREASE its power, Unlike BS feed decreases power. the scripting would be pretty easy. The downside to this effect and another reason why these vampires are dangerous.

Is there a way to examine the Vampirism code itself? If i could just get that feed interaction.

EDIT: In game settings i can find the strings like on sTargetTypeVampire but i do not think that helps me

As far as I can tell i cannot make what i want to make in regards to this. With obse i could make away with the crosshair refernce but i do not want to to use obse.

Although i did map out on a code that can work around it. The vampire with have four different states.

first state is not really a state but human. Kills the script if you are not marked as an ashin vampire. second state is a human-vampire. Daylight hours. third state is half-vampire: twilight hours: partial abilities/ spells. night: full vampire. The fourth state is cured.

For feeding, if you kill a npc and you have a certain ingredient in your inventory ( a custom ingredient) you get a poition (removing the ingredient) giving you a scripted potion. (if you go three days without this potion you not only lose your abilities but you take penalties as well.

The story behind this is these vampires must use blood of recently dead humans combined with a special ingredient to maintain themselves. I might make alchemy a factor in the fact you get better potion.

Sounds good, you might also want to look into BetterVampires as well. Its an older mod that achieves some serious reworking of the vampire without OBSE. There are some scripted abilities and effects there you might find interesting.

I think i will thanks. Some different animations would be interesting. I think i have heard of it been awhile though. It would make the battle at the end hopefully better.
