scarb
I am very new to modding, having gone through most of the beginners tutorial along with several other introductory appendices and lessons as well as throwing myself into the fire and just trying some things. I have managed to even do some very very minor repairs/changes to some mods I downloaded that did not seem compatible with my personal list of loaded mods. However, I am now trying to venture into some new territory, and I am having trouble finding what I need. I have searched through the Construction Set Wiki and here, but I am still at a loss. I am wanting to change clothing for some NPC's on a mod I downloaded. I use a different body mod than the author. However, I was able to drag new clothing items (from other mods) onto the NPC's, but when I loaded up the altered mod, it just showed the NPC's with nothing on. I also wanted to get into the existing AI scripts for the NPC's to alter them a bit, but I can only seem to remove/replace scripts. For instance, how might I change the dance animation for the SI dancer? I have umpa's mod for dancing, I prefer some of those animations. I have other, similar instance, where I want to slightly tweak the NPC AI. Do I have to just delve into writing entirely new scripts, or can I modify existing scripts? I have checked both in the scripts and the packages. The packages do not seem to allow me to do much for altering, and some of the scripts listed in the various NPC's AI's are not showing up in the script list. Thanks for any and all help. scarb
A bump for much needed help. I have been doing more research, and I am wondering if this has anything to do with merging mods and form id's? Does saving a new .esp take care of this instead of trying to alter an existing .esp? I am also still curious as how to get into existing AI Scripts/Packages and slightly alter them as opposed to writing new scripts. Any help on how to open these and edit them with the CS? Thanks.
