MiGo316
I just beat Fallout 3 and when I start my new game I want to have mods running. Thing is I am new to this and don't know where to start, if I could get some pointers on what applications I might need and good mods to start with would be much appreciated. Thanks for your time. davidzaccaro
All-Right! Well it all depends in which type of mods you would like.... MODS or OFFICIAL DLC Mmm lets say Weapon Mods: Frederyck Tactical Weapons, Alexscorpions Sniper Gear. Or if you don't wanna leave the Fallout Feeling you can get Classic Fallout Weapons BETA* Which the name explains it all. Ok Armour Mods: Josef Greys Vanilla Armor Expansion, SpyRodz Camouflages and their are Many others out there. Or you can get Fallout Overhaul Mods: which in some ways make the game HARDER and more Realistic. Also Companion Overhauls and many other out there. if you want I can give you my list of Mods I am playing right now.??
MiGo316
I already have both DLC's, very underwhelming I just want something new on my next play through so I don't mind some radical changes. I just need some help starting out, pretty much what I need to know so I don't screw anything up and your list of what you have wouldn't hurt. davidzaccaro
Well There are alot here it goes: Sp_Destruction ( Items are Destructable ) Global Travel System (GTS) The Settler ( Really Good Mod but might experience problems ) Slower Item Degradation Darnified UI ( I Just Changes Some of the Cosmetic of the Menus Option ) Megaton House Expansion ( Might get a Little bit unrealistical, just because it has various weapons included, ** Doesn't change anything insde the HOUSE** It just adds a Door with a New CELL*** Commonwealth Of Modders ( adds an Island and new items I really like ) Amplified Cripple Effects Wearable Backpacks Sharing and Caring Companions ( new options with compaions, ability to recruit any NPC ) Mart's Mutant Mod ( Increases Creatures and NPC spawns and More everywhere ) Gas Mask Drug Overhaul Mod BLTC ( New and Better Drugs with Visual effects and chance of OVERDOSE ) Amputate! Death Canyon V3 Classic Fallout Weapons Andragoms Apocalyptic Armoury ( NICE MUST HAVE, good armour ) ZL- SVD ( Adds an SVD Sniper Rifle ) Weapon Mod Kits ( To the Deafult game weapons, adds kits to add a weapon Silencer,Scope,Extended Magazine. ) Owned! ( Ability to buy properties around The Capital Wasteland, and if you kill an NPC that owns a House you own the house automatically ) Alex Scorpions Sniper Gear Outfits ( Adds a new Place with New Cloths GOOD ONE!) MiGo316
Wow, where should I start? What are your essentials, then I could get into the rest? What about FOOK is that any good?
TGBlank
aww, no fook on your list?, or fallout unofficial patch? or enclave commander? (those 3 are really worth it).Phalanx's companion mod is also very good. Also, before anything, you need to:a) edit your inib) move your dlc's to the fallout->data directory. All the respective files.c) get archiveinvalidation invalidated (or fallout unofficial patch, as it is contained within).d) get FOMM. Of all the mods, make sure to read all readmes, and follow the install instructions to the letter. Specially for GTS, FOOK, MMM, and balance overhauls such as FWE.Also, don't use "increased spawns" or "increased increased spawns" if your machine aint top notch.Same could be said about fook, many new weapons = many new textures to load, not every pc can handle it, tho it's worth it. The pitt quick fix, several body replacers such as breeze's or babe, ultimate perk pac, KS bullet time, choose_xp...Fellout is also very good, but i recommend you to add a mod that adds night vision goggles if you plan to use it (nights get very dark). There are also several small mods that change but a global variable or an animation, which often help a ton, for example, there is "no auto aim" and "accurate snipers" which fix the snipers bullet going above the crosshairs at long distances. There's also CRAFT (and several mods around it), that come very handy when you use FOOK or other mods that use the varied ammunition from CALIBR. I recommend you to get GTS, Fook, MMM, Fellout, Fallout unofficial patch, CRAFT (and the craft mod to create ammo for calibr, which is used in fook), and a companion mod (so the companion can survive the ordeal). If you find things too easy, add FWE. Amputate! and amplified cripple effects are a good idea too. If its a little too hard, reduce the difficulty, add overpowered weapon mods, or add enclave commander.Once you've toyed with things, add sp_destruction, owned, enclave commander and all the mod/armor kits not in fook that you might want.By later in game, where you've explored everything, go for commonwealth, settlers, and similars, they add a new scope to the game. davidzaccaro
Look yes I think you must get a hold on with FOOK http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4448Read it, if you like it Download it and Try it and as *TGBlank said* get archiveinvalidation invalidated and FOMM. The archiveinvalidation is needed so when you add new Items the Texture Appears Correctly, Not all glitchy and changing texture every time you change angle of view. Also here is another one FWE - FO3 Wanderers Edition http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2761as *TGBlank also said* And as I told you get MMM ( Mart's Mutant Mod ) for more Enemies and Difficult while fighting them. And Also as I said and TGBlank said Global Travel System (GTS) its areally good mod it allows you to travel "Around the Globe" and its pretty cool! get those......Hurry!!!!!!
