Cheating.

personally, when i want to test a mod is when I use the console. I have four characters right now - A Warrior, A Mage, ASneak, and A Tester

 

The Sneak Is a mystic Elf who throws daggers at people faces like an expert. When one of those silver daggers stirkes you in the face, you go down. He's the first character I completed the shivering Isles with

 

The Mage could be called a spellsword I suppose, but he doesn't wear armor and he spends more time throwing lightning bolts than cutting things up. He's a master of destruction, Archmage of the mages guild, Guild leader of the fighters guild, and became the gray fox in his "Wild month"

 

The Warrior is Hybrid Dragon (a private pre-alpha release of a mod from Drake the Dragon), which basically means he's the toughest guy you can have moderate balance with, and look cool to boot. He goes naked because the scripted body he's got makes naked look the best (besides, Galerion true unarmored fixes the no armor trouble) and he fights with his fists, vastly improved thanks to mods. He's my favorite, and most recent, character. He's still working on the main quest and KotN, but it's totally worth it!

 

The Tester, however, began life as an imperial. he's changed races so much I'm not sure what to call him anymore, as well as gender, though he is currently male. He's a guinea pig with billions of septims, constant God Mode when I play him just so that I can carry around all the damn gear he's got (everything from every mod I've downloaded - and believe me, it gets pretty hefty when you download shops like Romuska or the heroes store), every spell in the game is added to him continually as I receive more of them from mods, he's collected every single CM partner I've downloaded at least once and, thanks to massive cheating to get where I'm going *ahem* quickly, he is the lord of everything. yes, everything (well, everything with a questline - not just random quests). Currently, he's an Altmer with tattoos covering his face and ears longer than his head is tall, wearing TDA's neutral knight armor and flinging around the most powerful version of fingers of the mountain whenever he gets into combat. but, because I didn't bother editing his face (and they get distorted after being on custom races) HE IS THE UGLIEST BEAST IN EXISTANCE. I'm not proud of him, but hey, who else would be my tester if not for him? Certainly not one of my other characters.

 

Basically, I only cheat with one character just for testing purposes (however, quests are done by one of the other three) and so I get my fill of cheating with him and also get my fill of awesome gameplay with the others. this is not only a description - it's a suggestion. try it, you'll be surprised at the difference to your "addiction" it'll make (after all, I used to be a cheat addict too)

If you don't like cheating but can't stop doing it just make a friend stand next to you and hit you in the head with an axe everytime you do it. :banana:
