I also have the HG eye candy upgrade. There's not really any way to solve it completely. Everyone has that problem. I would personally suggest hitting the 'reset' button on the face as a start before you begin playing with the sliders on your character's face. I've also seen the suggestion of taking the light/dark tone sliders and going all the way to light then all the way to dark before putting it back somewhere in the middle and then choosing your skin tone. If you can get it close and the neck seam bothers you, you can get something like Luchair's Neck Seam Concealer, which is a tight necklace around the seam area of the neck.
