Does Oblivion have a major memleak?

Does this game have a huge memleak or something? Because when I start the game it uses little memory, but after passing thru like 3-4 area's its up to 3-4 gigs of total memory used, anyway to clean old textures etc out of memory? Game ends up just locking up due to no memory remaining.

Some users have reported that a quicksave, followed by a quickload will solve this problem. There may also be a console command. I'll take a look and if I find it, I'll post back.

EDIT: Memory leaks...Console command=PCB (Purge Cell Buffer)

This has been shown to help immensely.

Oblivion does not have a memory leak problem, but it does use heaps.

Make sure you have your page file set up properly. Do not let windows

set the limit for you. Set your page file to 1.5 - 2X your total RAM.

Make the min. and max the same.

Streamline also works well for me. I use v3, but some people have problems

with it. I think this is because it will turn off the distant lands setting if you don't

set it up correctly. This mod has a number of options that you can adjust, one

of them has a landscape tab. This should be set to off (0).

Streamline will purge your cell buffers automatically, and has several options

as to when it will do this.
