360 Controller not working on Computer

I'm using a wireless 360 Controller with a USB Wireless reciever for my computer. This works fine for Fallout 3 on my computer, but is not an option for my Elder Scrolls Oblivion GotY PC. I thought I read that a 360 controller would play the pc version? Do I need the Microsoft PC corded controller for this to work, is it because of me having the GotY edition, is there a patch or something for this, or was what I read about using a 360 controller for it just BS? I love the game and the PC extras, but I just can't stand using my Keyboard and mouse for this kind of game :wallbash:

Could anyone help me out here please?

No, this is primarily caused by the fact that the PC-version isn't built for the controller.

Tried it myself before. Only 'Games for Windows', give the full compatibility with controllers (especially the one of Xbox360).

I also have fallout 3, it is referred on the back of the box.

Although it is possible to use an xbox360 controller. It will not give the same experience as Oblivion on the console.

(The Attack/Defense especially). So if you hoped to achieve this than .

Try searching on Google first though.

If found which I saw last time easily by typing "oblivion xbox controller" But here it is.

Bethesda link

A little down is the official explanation, with settings for a game pad.

Next to that I recommend updating your drivers, and oblivion if you hadn't already.

But i'm sorry, had the same problem. But I've got it on the 360 too, so I shouldn't complain.

You'll probably have to wait for the next elder scrolls for such functionality.

I do have the PC version of the wireless Xbox 360 pad, and like it was said before, it doesn't work with Oblivion. My Playstation like gamepad did though, but other than that, any gamepad for Oblivion is quite useless as you'll NEVER have enough buttons on it to not be forced to use your keyboard too. (If that is even possible, but I guess it isn't.)

The Xbox pad works pretty good for DMC4 (in fact you can't even play it properly with another pad - yay -.-") and Assassin's Creed. I do not have Fallout 3 so I don't know about that. :)

But if you want to play Oblivion with a gamepad so desperately (or at least partially) you should get a Playstation-like gamepad. But it's no fun, really... ^^
