Tannin42
Please do *not* reinstall with the "custom" installer. That has never and will never fix any issue, all it can ever do is add to your list of problems. Best case scenario it temporarily works around an issue for a bit just for that issue to come back even bigger somewhere down the road. The log file makes it clear that Vortex gets stuck at the point where it tries to read its database, basically the file that contains all your settings, information about the mods you have installed and so on. That database is located in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\State.v2" so it's a directory "State.v2" alongside the log file. For some reason that directory or one of the files inside is inaccessible to Vortex. That could be because another instance of Vortex has it open, because your AntiVirus is blocking access to it or because the file permissions on that directory are borked. This will require a bit of investigation on your part to narrow down what the problem is: There is a tool "LockHunter" (https://lockhunter.com/) that you can use to figure out if a file or directory is locked by another process. If the directory is locked by Vortex then that means an earlier instance of Vortex failed for a _different_ reason that I can't see in the excerpt of the log you posted is too short. In that case please restart windows, try running Vortex again and post the new log. Second you should create a backup of that directory, than try to delete it in windows explorer. If file permissions disallow access to (part of) the directory, deleting it will also fail (or ask you to run as administrator, which you should refuse!).That way you can narrow down if the entire directory is locked or only a single file, then you can restore the backup and fix the file permissions using right-click -> properties -> security
