bjornl
So I decided to remove a few things from the game which I found to be an eyesore. All went well until I used the console command markfordelete on the fence surrounding the school house in Good spring. It never occurred to me to check if he crumpled chain-link fence was marked as the same object as the building. It was. So when I deleted the fence the building went too leaving some weird floating doors reminiscent of Monsters INC.I spent some time trying to find a tool or command line function to restore deleted objects but I could not. I deleted local cache (via Steam) and re-installed the game but the building did not return. Which would seem to point to the error being in either a data file or my save file.Is there anyway to restore the school house? Other goofiness probably caused by me. I got tired of the dozens of dead bodies just laying around and marked a whole bunch of them for deletion. I am guessing this is what caused a select number of NPCs to turn in to streakers in protest. All NPCs added by AWOP are now in their underwear/naked. It is not a load order problem since I removed all other mods to test. I checked for conflicts with FNVEdit and it found none. Everything green (merge patch was empty). All I am loading is fallout NV, the DLCs (including gra, etc) AWOP and the AWOP patch for DLC+GRA. I re-installed both AWOP and the game itself and it did not resolve it. Short of buying a ton of clothes and reverse pick-pocketing a small army of NPC's, is there any other way to get them dressed?
luthienanarion
The appropriate step to take would have been loading an earlier save, as there is no way to restore an object that has been deleted by the game engine. In the future, do your experimenting with the Disable command instead.
bjornl
The appropriate step to take would have been loading an earlier save, as there is no way to restore an object that has been deleted by the game engine. In the future, do your experimenting with the Disable command instead. The time which passed since these various actions took place and when the results were discovered is huge. As in over 20 levels back. As for disable v. markfordelete, wouldn't the npc's would still be cluttering the scene once I fast-travelled back? I know there was some clutter in front of the player house and I tried various methods to clean it up and markfordelete was the only one which kept it from coming back (my goal). I did plenty of experimentation with a good save but I got sloppy because I'd done it so often and I was so used to just having CASM for my saves that I did not take care to save it. I managed to get the NPCs to get reclothed. Strangely loading a saved game in their position showed them still naked. But fast traveling from the place and back resolved it. So at least those above ground are 'ok'.... if the ones below ground are not dressed, I guess I could use resurrect to restore their clothing but just one at a time..... tedious. Is there a tutorial on how to re-use an existing building in creating a new mod? So that I could plop a new copy of the school there. (just the exterior, as the doors and interior space were unaffected).
