badluckartist
ARGH I'M DROWNING IN MY OWN DROOL COME ON Cosmopolitan - bribes -50%, can pay 1000 (+1000 per use) to turn anyone who isn't hostile into a Friend.Discipline - +100 armor and +25% magic resist when standing still.Legionary - if you have a follower, you get +25% magicka/stamina regen and gain the Infantry Tactics power. At will: Intel - spy on the nearest NPC for 15 seconds.(Unlock) 1/day: Colovian Star - Fully restores the two highest stats.(Legionary) At will: Infantry Tactics - Swaps position with your follower at the cost of 25% current magicka/stamina for both. Holy crap I think I actually want to try an Imperial and use followers for once. I didn't think it could be done :O One thing I immediately wondered is how many of these will/can be used by enemy NPCs and/or if they will get different, but equal-ish racial abilities to match the dragonborn's? The new Dunmer revolves partially around Whispers. Ancestral Guardians summons 1 guardian and Spirit Walk summons 2 guardians. When you kill an innocent neutral NPC marked by Whispers, you get 2 and 6 respectively for 25 uses. Each mark you kill adds 25 more uses, up to 999 for obsessed players. So Whispers is just a marking spell you have to use on innocent neutral NPCs to fuel use of ancestor guardians? That... sounds totally awesome, if I read it right. (Target selection is not actually entirely random, by the way. The spirits have their reasons) Any more details on that? EnaiSiaion
Whispers actually tells you who the spirits want you to murder, and in exchange they'll help you. Almost every ability and every combat power will be used by NPCs as long as it makes sense. There are a handful of exceptions: Beast Tongue, Berserk, Ravage and Spirit Walk, all of them for technical reasons (they physically wouldn't work correctly, for instance NPCs are capped at 1 minion and you cannot dynamically give them perks in any way). Everything else can and will be used against you, to a degree that is configurable in the MCM. Nords may go Avatar on your ass, pushing an Argonian into water heals them, dropping below 30% vs a Dunmer gets you a Balefire in the face, etc. Sometimes their version is weaker though, in cases where the full version would be annoying to play against. Avatar for instance lasts only 10 seconds so you still get the oh-crap-must-disengage gameplay without the followup of having to kite for 30 seconds. There is (only) one NPC-only ability in the game: Forestwalk, a bosmer NPC racial that makes them invisible in combat at max health, as long as they are outside a city. This is to compensate for the lack of an actual racial power they can use. You can turn it off with MCM if you think invisibility is only fair when it's you who's using it. badluckartist
Those all sound great, especially Forestwalk. Anything to make Bosmer more awesome is fine by me. Any word on ETA? Is there any consequence for ignoring your ancestors? Like will they just insist forever that you murder the same guy or will they give up and give you a new Whisper after a while? EnaiSiaion
The consequence is that after a while they'll assign you someone else to dunk, and of course they'll give you hell after you die (or before - dunmer society doesn't like it when you ignore your ancestors). You get much more time than Harrier gives you (5 minutes) because you may want to wait for the guy to walk into the wrong alley first, then it's down for 2.5 minutes and then you get the next one. If no one is nearby, it resets. Release later this week. I considered throwing in Sea Elves, but giving them the intended bioluminescence would require body model changes to accomodate glow maps and we know how many people use the fap bodies/faces. badluckartist
Like making a standalone custom race or something included in RR? With all due respect to the people that require overly-exquisite polygons to play a role in a game, screw the fapsters. They know they get to wait around for dirty seconds when it comes to mods... pun probably intended. Worst comes to worse, couldn't it just be made into an optional plugin for those whose games are (relatively) modestly modded? That said, what sort of abilities would Maomer have? I for one would love to play as a proud TES Zora.
EnaiSiaion
This was what I came up with on paper: Blood in the Water: periodically marks a target in combat, attacking this target grants a stacking damage and spellpower buff.Iridescent Skin: immune to disease and chance to reflect incoming spells.Lurelight: emit light in dark areas, which presumably interacts with NPCs somehow. Turn the Tide: 1/day, any damage you take during the next 10 seconds is converted into health/magicka/stamina at a 200% rate.Feeding Frenzy: 1/day, marked unit is targetted by all actors in a radius. So far the kit seems too warlike for a race that may have been trying to invade Summerset a few million times but isn't associated with killdeathmurder outside of the lore. If I don't go through with this, I can recycle those abilities for Druidverse.
