Deleted96109373User
Hi! So i'm trying to find info online about what each xwm file does in fallout 4, i'm in the middle of creating my first ever mod and it's a Doom Eternal music and atmosphere mod but it's a bit frustrating trying to find info on this stuff. So far I've managed to import a few tracks successfully but 1: they do not loop and 2: i can probably find a way to fix 1 myself but in order to continue i need to find out whether there is any documentation online regarding these xwm files and when/how they trigger. Does anyone know a source of information or documentation on what these files do in-game exactly? an example would be MUS_Combat_Low_01.xwm, i have no idea what it is or how it is triggered. If anyone could help I would be so grateful. Thanks!
pepperman35
Much of what is learned about moddding FO4 comes from a careful study of equivalent things in the game, and using the Creation Kit to reverse engineer them. The Creation Kit wiki can be used to help fill in the knowledge gaps. https://www.creationkit.com/fallout4/index.php?title=Sound_File Some tutorials exist but they are rather sparse. Deleted96109373User
Yeah I actually checked out that page before I posted here but no dice. To add onto what you said regarding reverse engineering, I think the best way to go about it would be to literally replace every "unknown" file to my knowledge with my own voice recording on a loop saying the file name, then seeing how it triggers in-game. Thanks for the info though, I appreciate it! Edited April 27, 2022 by Guest
