vanilla formlists? uhhhhh

Recommended Posts

Okay so I have an insanely stupid question (probably). What precisely constitutes an edit to vanilla formlists?

In this context I'm trying to get some junk to show up in the workshop menu but nothing seems to be working, I'm trying to give a mod a quest and install/uninstall script re: Darthwayne's tutorial but I want to make sure I'm not doing the dumb thing here.

Formlists can be changed via an override in a mod, or via a script. If you change a formlists via an override then the resulting list will be the changed list PLUS any additions added to it via scripts. Basically a formlist has 2 parts - the winning list (defined in the last mod to override it) plus additions done via scripts (stored in the game save). Workshop menus are just formlists that the workshop code reads when generating the menu. Problems occur if the formlist 'additions' in the save have 'holes' in them (null items). The workshop code does not like this.

Perhaps too much info - you said formlists - adding recipes into workshop menus just involves puting the correct keywords on the recipe form. The workshop process builds the formlists from that itself. Formlists only define the menu structure.
