Using contect from other esps?

I've put the MidasArkContainer item (amongst others such as Midas ingredients inside a chest etc...) from Midas Spells into my own mod by setting my mod as the active file and loading the data from the MidasSpells.esp. Ive saved it and loaded up my game and all the things from the Midas Spells mod that I placed into my own mod are not there??? It's tot just Midas Spells because the Spellmaking an Enchanting altars that I also put into my mod from the Enchanting and Spell Making Altars.esp are missing in game as well. However, I also put a prop from Better Cities Resources.esm into my mod and that seems to be working fine. Is it something to do with the different file extension?

 

P.s. last time I quit the Constuction Set and reloaded my mod all the things that disapeared in game also failed to load in my mod in the Construction Set, so i'm currently praying that it doesn't crash while I wait for an answer on here or else i'm gonna have to do it all over again :(

P.s. In regards to using other peoples content, I have no intention of releasing this mod with that content in it. When I release it it will be all my own work (I have saved a clean copy of my mod before I started putting in other peoples work. It is this version I shall release), I just want to implement those things into the mod for my own enjoyment and convinence.

ah, that is a very helpful reply but unfortunatly I have already tried doing that with the MidasArkContainer and for a reason unknown to me, the script is deffinitly selected in the editor, and my object apears in game, but when I try to use it in game the script doesn't run. Probably something to do with me changing the objects ID (i'm guessing the Scrips refers to the origional ID and thats why it's not working).

 

If I have to change scripts for all of Midas' Spells in order to make it work I won't bother :P but i'm hoping there is another way. Maybe a way to make the MidasSpells.ESP a Parent/Master for my mod like the Better Cities Resources.ESM is, as I am guessing this is why the content from the ESM is working but the content from the ESP isn't.

Sorry to bump this post when it's not even got far down the page, but my computer is rather unstable and i'm paranoid it's gonna restart before i've found out how to resolve the problem, and if it does that, i'll loose all the items again and have to place them all over again.... which would suck... so... *bump* :P

thanks, but I have already got the model to show up in game by creating a new item, but the script that is set on it doesn't work after I have done that, persumably because the script refers directly to the ID of the origional object, so in this case, creating a new object ID with the same mesh, texture and script doesn't seem to be an option :(

 

Is it possible to create my mod which is a pirate ship base as the active file and save that, and then load the Midas Spells mod as the active file with my pirate ship mod as a resorce and add the midas items to my mod that way? Cus when I tried to do that in the editor, instead of putting the object in my pirate ship Interior, it created a copy of the pirate ship Interior with a slightly different ID and put it in there... would those two interiors merge together in game if both mods are loaded at the same time or would I have 2 seperate world spaces, one created by my mod, and one created by Midas Magic that I edited?

Theres nothing wrong with doing that when you dont release it. I mod ALOT of the stuff i download to my personal tastes myself.
