AnduneLordOfPwn
At this point, I feel as if it would be better for them to leave Half Life where it stands. Half Life 1 & 2 both brought new concepts and technologies to the table which quickly became industry standard. Now, they'd have to work exceptionally hard to put together another game changer of the like. But the main reason I say this is due to the hype. We've had cliffhanger after cliffhanger, and they've had us holding our breath for so long in suspense that by now - due to all the talk and rumors about in the air - it would be almost impossible for it to live up to our disproportional expectations. Would it be a good game? Most likely. Would it be great? I don't doubt it for a second. But no matter how exceptionally it may be on its own, we will be comparing it not to other similar games, but to the preconceived notions that we developed viewing our beloved series through rose-tinted spectacles of nostalgia. That being said, WILL IT JUST COME OUT ALREADY.
Keanumoreira
The way that "Gabe Newell" wrote this sounds more like an omen than anything to be taken seriously. He'd be giving himself bad publicity. I think it's fake. Edited October 17, 2013 by Keanumoreira
Vagrant0
Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Valve didn't just decide to hold off on anything HL3 related until they have their console. Afterall, every console has its share of "exclusive" titles. Technical issues aside, it's probably what the marketing people are saying.
brokenergy
It was fake, by the time HL3 is release is when Gabe retires or some company does a takeover of Valve.
Ironman5000
Maybe they've been waiting for the next-gen console tech, with the game priding itself on physics they could achieve much more by doing this and i'd be happy to wait around to see what they come up with. No one cares about the tech, they just want to know what happens to Freeman. Considering the time developed between HL and HL2, I don't see that as likely. They just don't have it in active development anymore

I mentioned this because they would have been aware of better capabilities in future console, and speaking time between HL and HL2 that's from PS2 to PS3 so why not to PS4? Makes sense and could be keeping it under wraps.
Thor.
All this at the end was a fake. if you cry wolf to many times you will not be taken seriously the fourth time. Doesn't matter the game.. Edited October 18, 2013 by Thor.

AceGoober
I'll believe in Half-Life 3 when I see it. Valve has BS'd the community before and any rumors of a continuation of the series I take with a grain of salt or completely ignore all-together.
