I'm having a problem with a fairly new game, got a couple of settlements started but when I try to talk to the settlers "I just want to trade some items" they respond "-" and look really pissed off at me. I played this game quite a lot and never seen this before so i'm wondering if one of the mods I installed are causing the problem, i've googled it and the only solutions people suggested are to reassign or wait in a different settlement or hard reset nothing works so can anyone advise me?? Yes, I was also watching the same thing you were. They also said you could play Elder Scrolls Online "single-player" too back in the day. When they say "single-player" in that context what they mean is playing the online game solo. And "Fallout 76 is entirely online." BE3 Source Video (skipped to the relevant part). I do and always have played ESO solo in PVE and it measures up to it's predecessors especially if you play for immersion, there is no pressure for anyone to play against other players at all. You can happily do your own thing the same way you did in other other games with added factor that occasionally other people will turn up to help in fights, which is cool right...?...am I missing something?

Whether it's moddable or not i'm still gonna give it a chance, everyone hated the concept of ESO before it came out but I stayed on the fence and now i've probably logged nearly as many hours on it as much as the single player games because it's a really good game. Giving FO a chance at any kind of multiplayer aspect is welcome in my view even if it's not necessarily a proper MMO, but I would put money on it being a success whatever happens. Plus I stopped making mods ages ago so the burden is no longer on my hands to make anything :laugh: EDIT: After seeing the official preview my opinion is that the game will be more like State of Decay than anything else.

OK well this can be deleted already, went indoors and came out found him wandering outside of the rock...still not right though.

I'm having a problem starting a quest, Preston just gave me the mission "Raider Troubles at Somerville Place" but the marker isn't actually teleporting around the map in inaccessible locations, so far i've tracked him down inside the concrete of a bridge and now he's in a rock. I know it's him I can see the marker swaying slightly like an NPC idle animation but I can't get to him. By the way i'm playing on XBox1 so console commands aren't an option for me, I am using mods but nothing that would affect the AI of vanilla NPCs. The only settlement mod I use is Settlement Limits Slashed.

FFS now me and Heather Casdin are taking turns to play random black face! :laugh: Front half of the head all brown with no facial details...the rainbow eyes have gone at least.

Well with my potato computer i'm not even gonna try and run this for pc so i'm just speculating from past experience, probably best to just wait for an official fix imo given it's such a glaring error I assume Beth would do something about it sooner rather than later anyway.

Yeah looks like something got corrupted with pretty much most decals...well if nothing else I got a laugh out of all this :laugh: although i'm slightly concerned Beth didn't respond in the thread given it's quite a big f*** up on their part, fingers crossed they don't expect mod authors to patch this before they do!

I tried a hard reset which fixed the blood decals but not the eyes, I can't be bothered messing around with this...what a weird engine this game must use that allows textures to randomly disappear! :laugh:

Ah FFS that's annoying, guess i'll have to shelve the game again until they fix it I can't play the game like this. Thanks for letting me know :thumbsup:

Can someone advise me on how to fix missing textures from using mods for XBox One? I've been using a few mods during my play through for a while now with no problems and today I decided to revisit the game after a break for a month or two, suddenly the game crashed during a fight with some feral ghouls and when I reloaded it I noticed me and companion had glowing white/multicolored eyes and the blood splatter was giving the same effect. I disabled ALL mods in my load order and loaded several save games and it's not fixed the problem, as if the textures were deleted from the base game! Here is my load order. I played through survival mode once already without mods, and it got to a point where almost everything was dead to the point I could wander around without worrying about getting attacked in most places. I am looking for mods that will either respawn or random spawn more enemies in the wasteland for the XBox1, but I can't find any either because the search engine is rubbish and highlights keywords even if it's out of context, or because they just don't exist! Can someone help me out? Post a link or tell me the name of a mod to look for? Remember it's for XBox1 not PC...I own a potato PC.

It's Win7, just tried CCleaner it didn't fix anything. I've never messed around with OS before and tbh I don't trust myself to do that on my own, but i'm pretty sure it's not hardware because it's an issue that was previously fixed once before using BT's diagnosis tool which says to me it's a settings problem probably caused by Norton sticking it's beak in everywhere.

I'm at a loose end here I need some advice or point me in the right direction please, I would appreciate any suggestions because I really don't want to pay for some IT guy to attempt this - I have had the same issue happen before, had not one but two "professionals" run all sorts of tests and even restore factory settings but they couldn't fix it...turns out the BT desktop help tool managed to fix it by some miracle but this time it won't work...it crashes when testing the connection :facepalm: The symptoms; When playing online games (MMORPGs) I can play for like 5-10 mins than it will disconnect, but my connection shows to have internet access at normal speed. There is a problem loading websites, some load very slow or not at allImages on websites sometimes wont loadSpeed test sites either 1) give a very low upload speed, 2) cannot run an upload speed test, 3) time out before starting. It appears to be random.I am certain the problem is with the cpu itself NOT the router or provider as every other device works perfectly, and I know it's because I installed Norton protection as it happened immediately after. Needless to say I uninstalled it and used the Norton removal tool to make sure it has gone completely but the connection is still wonky and I can't wrap my head around a fix despite trying many common solutions found in related forums...well at least the ones which actually load for me, and some "Fixed" suggestions led me to blank MS support pages which I assume were outdated. Things I tried to no avail; Tested in safe mode with networking, no changeReset the routerConnecting the modem directly the motherboard, bypassing the routerDisabled firewall and MSE, no fixManually enabled inbound rules for the online games, not fixedTried some command prompt suggestion like flush dns and checking for dodgy dllsThere may be other things I left out but it's been nearly 2 months and I forget. I suspect the problem is to do with Norton messing around with my windows firewall settings as I remember the first time this happened BT desktop helper solved the problem after it notified me it was interacting with the firewall, however because the program can no longer complete the fix and I have no idea what to do with the advanced firewall settings I am completely lost and could use some advice, thanks.

I wonder what's going to happen to the inactive mod authors here, I just happen to poke my head in every now and again so I changed mine as soon as the news popped up but i'm not creating anything atm and have little reason to hang around much at all so if it happens again while i'm away... Also there are authors who have been here for years with their original passwords and I doubt very highly we will hear from again and their content is still hosted here, so what happens to them? Sure they can can get email msg but I get that for every fkin thing that happens on the forums thanks to a mysterious notifications glitch (which hasn't been fixed for a looong time) and I ignore every email notification from this site these days and it's likely others will too who get this.
