gromulos
I will assume that every person who reads this has played NV. You know the girl you save from the geckos while doing the tutorial at the beginning of the game with Sunny? Well I would really like to have her as a companion, just the way she looks. Maybe she could be standing outside Doc's house or Victor's house waiting for the player? You could then chat her up and have her join you. I would really like it if the role play was similar to how Willow's is. Yes that is a shout out to the mod maker for Willow lol. Who ever decides to do this PLEASE be an experienced mod maker, ty. devinpatterson
If you havn't modded it's hard to know what projects are easy and what projects are real killers. A companion with even a modest dialog quest can be a real task. A companion like Willow is a monumental job. Chances are pretty slim anyone is going to spend the time making a character with any depth, unless you have a great idea that appeals to a lot of people, much less something that rivals Willow. I mean it doesn't hurt to ask, but I'd plop down a handful of 20's that you won't see a Willow level companion from this request. Do you have Willow currently installed? If not I'd suggest going about it in a different direction. Just change Willows model to the girl you saved model. Not an ideal solution, but easy enough to do. I can't do it for you since Willow is someone else s work, unless you can get permission from the author. I might be able to walk you through doing it, assuming it's never released and only used by you, for your personal game (no distribution).
gromulos
I have never done any modding at all, I would not even know where to begin. Copying and pasting folders or files is one thing, but I happen to know from reading a LOT of mod sources that making a mod is completely and totally different. Even if it was something simple it still takes a lot of work. Something like I am wanting would probably easily take a month or two to do. On the other hand, maybe, just maybe the mod maker of willow would be willing to do it since all he would have to do is change her appearance, everything else is already in place, I will ask him, thanks. More than likely she'll tell you to do it yourself considering that she's busy with the next Willow update.

Or you can explain what you'd like to do, let her know that htis is only for you (not for re-distribution) and ask permission if it's OK I can do it for you if she doesn't have time. gromulos
WOW! This site is amazing, I never thought I would even get a response and now I have had 2 different people offer to do it for me. I will respond with a yes or no once I receive an answer from HER ( sorry about the he reference ). I do not want to step on anyone's toes and I totally do not want her thinking I am trying to do anything sneaky. So until I hear back from her I will just have to wait. Thanks everyone. Willow took six months initially. And then more time for updates. And more time now. She's a fairly complex mod as companions go and I'm always trying new stuff and building stuff I decide I don't want, etc. or polishing until I think it's just right. I don't think, unless it was a relatively simple companion, that I would ever finish a companion in one or two months. Re: What you want done specificallyOnce you download a mod it is yours to change however you wish as long as you only plan to use those changes in your own game. You don't need to seek permission from the author. The only time you need to ask permission is if you want to distribute something/release it. With Willow specifically it matters because all of her voice work and character development are my original work. I don't support changing Willow's appearance meaning I will never do it. I feel very strongly about that. Willow looks like she does because that's who she is; part of developing a character is derived from the character's appearance. Everything Willow became is based on what she looks like and the voice I gave her. However, players are free to change her appearance in their own games (via the Geck) and I do offer a couple of optional esps on Willow's mod page to help with that. So you can absolutely feel free to change her appearance to whatever you want to in your own game. llama
Moraelin
Heh, if you feel that strongly about her appearance... err... mental note to self: don't post pics of Willow as a high elf ;)

That's why I offer ways to help a player change her appearance even though I won't do the work. And I enjoy seeing what players do with her; there are some lovely versions of Willow in players' games.
