LE Player designed homes: appointing a housecarl and a steward for it&#33

I dont know if this has been discussed before or not? There are some really nice homes made by the talented content creators here and although they are gorgeous; they also feel a bit lonely inside as all basic and hearthfire homes have either a Housecarl or a Housecarl and Steward assigned to them.

 

Would it be difficult to design a mod that would allow a player to select a homeless follower and assign them as a housecarl and/or a steward to a player designed home; even as a replacement to an existing home in case the steward or housecarl dies.
