robertoskyrim
Are you a modder?Do you know how to edit first person animations? I have some ideas to let you create a very good mod. I can't do it my myself because i am not a modder, so i am looking for people to help me. If you want to know more about that, contact me here. OrganicView
I don't believe there was any new first person animation for Skyrim. Ever. I don't know if it is even possible, considering how hard it is to mess with animations in Skyrim. Some were available for Oblivion though. So it will maybe be possible in the future. robertoskyrim
Well, my idea is about create immersive first person. I mean, a little oscillation when you walk or run. When you stop, a little (very noticiable) oscillation that starts after 1 seconds (See this video about Outlast, so you can understand what i mean: http://youtu.be/wk7I2A6wYCE?t=4m37s.) LargeStyle
This has been and is still worked of by "The Joy of Perspective" mod team., although I haven't looked into this mod for quite a while now. They took the approach of modding duplicate third person animations (the only was to have the body visible when looking down) but about a year ago they had problems with smoothing out the camera movement. I really wanted to see the mod progress and they openly asked for help so I spent a week learning animation 3DS Max and eventually made and submitted a small few general movement animations (basic walk, run, sprint, and idle). Let me assure you it is not an easy task to mod animations and it's a matter or great manipulation and trial and error. For me I found I had to remove all animation movements from the characters spine so the head didn't move around in a crazy manner, then rebuild the arms and legs movements, then manually trying to animate the head in a smooth yet convincing and effective manner - this wan't that easy to do! Plus you had to do some conversion work before you could even see the animation in the game so not only is it a complicated process, it's a slow one at that. Quote I can't do it my myself because i am not a modder... None of us are modders until we decide to start and learn how to mod. Quote ...so i am looking for people to help me. Sometimes people have to help themselves. I'm not being arsey, but nearly everyone has modding ideas, but only a few of us actually make the effort to learn and make our ideas a reality. After a seriously quick google search you can find animation guides such as... http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=skyrim+animation+tutorial&oq=skyrim+animation+&gs_l=youtube.3.9.0l10.180310.185510.0.187909.12.11.1.0.0.0.108.813.10j1.11.0...0.0...1ac.1.11.youtube.s8B1z9jK2IU Edited October 19, 2013 by LargeStyle

Thank you for the answer :) Personally, i don't like the idea for "The Joy of Perspective". Yes, is a good mod but is is not what i mean. My idea is just about editing the camera during the movement, no need to see the body. Just a little bit oscillation needed to simulate "real" walk or idle head movement. LargeStyle
Yeah, this movement effect was present in earlier versions of the JoP mod (known as "shakey" version) but I think they may've dropped this movement effect due to the required work load. Last I saw they were still working on the mod so maybe they'll release a version that'll behave like in your referenced Youtube vid. PS. I totally agree that this camera effect will add to immersion 100 fold and should be included in all first person games!!! robertoskyrim
Ok i started to learn how to edit animations, i am following this tutorial: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/15238 I have converted animation hkx files to kf files. I have found that base walk animation is mt_walkforward.hkx Run animation is mt_runforward.hkx In game, i found that when you run the camera is bobbing vertically, after some analysis i found that the bobbing effect is from mt_runforwardcamerabob.hkx Also the walk animation has mt_walkforwardcamerabob.hkx but no bob here...so i renamed mt_runforwardcamerabob.hkx to mt_walkforwardcamerabob.hkx and placed in the right place in data/meshes/actors/character/_1stperson. Now the walk has the bobbing animation!!! But.... it is too fast.... because it is made for run :) Now, i don't know how to edit mt_walkforwardcamerabob.hkx because when i try to open the mt_walkforwardcamerabob.kf version in 3ds max it give me the error "improper format". I can open every animations without problem but not that file... :( Are you a modder? Do you have skype? Maybe can you help me with some hints?
