IamJethro
I have a computer that uses Windows Vista Premium, and I'm not great with computers and desperately need help with Fallout 3 for my computer. Every time after I press New Game and try to start one, it comes up with "Fallout 3 has stopped working - Windows is searching for a solution". I know I meet all of the system requirements, and I need to know what's wrong with it.
Smosh
Where abouts do you have Fallout installed. I believe there are known issues with Fallout and Vista if it installed in the default c://program files directory.

IamJethro
It doesn't seem to be working. It's an almost brand new computer, 64-bit operating system. 4 GB RAM. It installs perfectly, but it does not start properly.
phoneyLogic
OK, so the problem is: Every time the Intro starts your game crashes? This could be a codec problem. But not sure... You could try this: 1. Loading save game as short as possible after the Intro - here: savegames @ fallout3nexus 2. Disable some codecs with the tool Installed Codec - go here -> Post 27 for a short "walk through" 3. Install the Klite Codec Pack Basic here: http://www.codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
IamJethro
Will any of those have a negative effect on the game? Also, just to be sure, I'd like to tell you that it is at the intro where the beginning movie should be it just shuts the game off.
phoneyLogic
None I know loading a savegame should be a way to figure out, what the mainproblem is: Is it only the "Intro"?Is the game running fine?
IamJethro
I'll download a saved game, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with graphics. My graphics card is apparently an Intel® G45/G43 Express Chipset.....Not sure if that's good or not but it is a brand new computer.
