thestaub Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Starting a new topic since using the search always gets me into the new vegas forums. So my problem is this.In New Vegas, when I wanted to load a game, I had to start a new game first (kinda like to initialize the engine) and then load my savegame. Loading my savegame directly resulted in game freezing during loading screen. As of this morning I experience the very same issue in skyrim. After 25 hours playing that one character. The game crashes ust the second the loading screen would disappear (guess based on the time passed), it just freezes.I did install Realistic Needs, which I also uninstalled again, loaded up a old savegame, saved anew, but not fixing it.Right now, if i load an old game, then load my most recent one (with or with out realistic needs mod) works. If I start the game and load my most recent save game right away, it freezes. I guess this is not related to the realistic needs mod in particular, so I post this here. As mentioned above, I played this character with this fixed set of mods for more than 20 hours now without problems.I'm not sure if this is because I installed Realistic Needs or if it is a coincidence. As said. the problem persists even after I uninstall the mod and load a savegame made previous to first installing the mod. Hope you guys can help me.
BlackRoseOfThorns Posted October 7, 2013 Posted October 7, 2013 (edited) Have you tried reinstalling the game? Usually it's the other way around. You won't be able to run new game and get past Helgen with certain mods enabled. Check if your save game haven't gain in size too much in few hours in comparison to earlier saves. My save goes from 4 to 8mb after playing for 100h with mods enabled. If you see sudden gain of 10 or 20mb then it's bloating save. However I'm also using RND and never had problem with it. Have you updated your game or downloaded dlc recently? Also remember to always stop RND script in MCM and save game before removing it or updating to new version. This will definitely cause problems. Posting your load order and update version may help. Edited October 7, 2013 by BlackRoseOfThorns
