HirlokTheHermit
I have been on the Nexus for several years (new account now because old got deactivated and email addy was gone, LOL) I would LOVE to pay for the outstanding service, the new features (collections, woot), and everything the Nexus and the modding community stand for. But, like many others, I can't.Banking/Credit Cards/Paypal have gone medieval over the past years - not just KYC terrorism (try to get a card if you live in a free country without forced address registration, LOL), but also outright stupid regulations that cause all sorts of errors if e.g. card issuer and country of residence don't match, etc. Is there any specific reason why the Nexus does not offer modern, worldwide available payment options like Bitcoin? The integration of crypto payments is not rocket science anymore, there are 3rd party providers that handle payments if you do not want to do the integration yourself, and you would get a lot of additional revenue. If you limit it to yearly payments even manual handling could be an option. If people want to throw money at you, you have to let them..
Pickysaurus
I'm afraid this isn't likely to happen. Unless our payment provider (Braintree) adds supports crypto and it can be used in the context of a recurring subscription it's not something we're likely to consider. While you personally may prefer crypto, it's also important to consider that not a whole lot of people use it at the moment when looking at the context of all users worldwide. HirlokTheHermit
Well, pity. Let's see if the near future (sanctions, more international restrictions, further fragmentation of international financial system, inflation, etc....) will incentivize such a move.Regarding user numbers: sure, first world users so far stick with the convenience of fiat/cards.However I see quite a few posts about people willing but unable to upgrade, and usually those are max 5% of the actually affected people, most folks to not even bother to report this kind of thing, they just shrug and move on when someone does not want their money.
