jazzisparis
I just love it when people download gazillion mods, don't bother to read each mod's description to find out which files they actually need, if there are any requirements and known incompatibilities, then open a new forum thread and ask other people to go over their mod list and do all the work for them. Xilandro
One word - incompatibility. And lol, Project Nevada + Arwen Tweaks + hellofalot of other mods? Seriously? Remove at least 99% of mods and stick with only few mods.

Ladez
Seriously, just clear everything out and start over. And when you do this, then read everything you can about the mods that you want. What are the requirements? What other mods are incompatible? What files do you need to install, and what files do you not need? I see a lot of things like this in your list: [X] XFO - 3ba - rarity - caps - mild.esp [X] XFO - 3bb - rarity - caps - med.esp [X] XFO - 3bc - rarity - caps - hard.esp These obviously:Come from the same mod (XFO) Do the same thing (rarity - caps) Does it in varying levels (mild/med/hard)I bet these are (some of) what's making your game crash, since the respective files probably include identical records. What led you to believe you needed all of them? You don't need to install every single thing a mod provides unless the author specifically says it's needed. Some things are optional, and when you use them together bad things can happen. Edited October 7, 2013 by Ladez
Nihilist87
I'm aware that I am using too many mods... and I actually do read the descriptions...I've just disabled 17 of them and now the game loads properly.I'm not contempt with just using, let's say, 10 mods....So, please don't flame/troll in here... If you want to provide useful information, then thank you very much!If not, stick to your activities...Have a nice evening!
Ladez
Glad it's working for you now, you probably still have some severe conflicts though, I'm just saying. It's great you read descriptions, I'm glad to hear it. A lot of people just kind of glances over them without really caring too much. No one's saying you have to be content with 10 mods, I like to use a lot myself. But when you do that, you have to be aware of the changes that follow and how they interact with each other. Take a look at this quote (from What is the mod limit ?!): The theoretical limit is 256 (minus 00 is the main esm and FF is reserved, so its 254). The practical limit is much less and i've seen posts that things start to go off the rails around 140. That's a count of actual plugins - esp/esm - don't count those that are just mesh/texture replacers. Your list contained exactly 256 lines if you include the vanilla files. This is beyond what the game is capable of. Having deleted 17 mods you are down to 239, which is still far above what is recommended. I'd really take a hard look at the mods you use and ask yourself if you really need them all. Scrap anything you really don't care about. Be ruthless about it. Many of the smaller mods can probably be merged. You say you're using FNVEdit, so I advise you to start learning how to use it to detect conflicts and creating merged patches. It's something I'm learning myself right now since I never got around to it. I'm sorry if you felt offended by the responses here, but let's be clear; you've gotten yourself in a bad situation by being careless with your mods. Don't expect people to jump through hoops when you come posting a list like that and openly admit that you have too many mods. A nice evening to you too. bjornl
You need to get it down by at least 100, more likely 120. Fallout New Vegas generally becomes very unstable somewhere in the 120-140 range. Use FNVEdit to test for conflicts and create a merge patch. This will help some with some sorts of conflicts but is no guarantee of stability. Use Optimizer Textures to reduce texture sizes (helps with memory management) http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/46074//? but be careful. Do not be too aggressive since you will just trade one problem for another. Use NVSE (2b12) and 4gb to help with memory management and to add some functionality. Just remember they count against your total.I also suggest you get YUP and MMUE as they help with the bugs. Best move is really to start over. Remove everything. Take your time and carefully add one mod at a time. Take the time to read the instructions (and the readme's in the zip files). Watch for duplicates like Ladez pointed out. Picking small, medium and large only results in the last one having any in game effect but all of them will conflict and create some problems. Approach it like you are trying to build something. Would you build a house by digging a hole and dumping the entire contents of your local home-depot in a giant heap and be disappointed when it leaked? Nihilist87
Thank you guys!I've manually re-added all the mods and deleted many of them. Now my game starts without crashing and also, when I start a new game I don't get any conflicts.I've tested them using FNVEdit... and as for merged patches, I don't know how to do that but I will be looking it up. So I'm going to try and see if I can play the game with my current and messy mod list, and If I encounter major problems, I'll take your advice, and re-install everything and just use the best mods suited for me (that would be the best option).Oh, Ladez, I was not aware I was using so many mods, he he... I guess I got too impatient...Took your advice, and deleted near half of them...I know I've been a bit careless, but I'm not an expert... that's why I made this thread. And I have asked you guys nicely... and if someone wants to help it will be greatly appreciated... but I can't see how insults and flaming can be of help. If someone has better things to do with their time, just don't bother reading and giving me crap... That's all I'm saying. bjornl and Ladez, thank you again for your patience and help! Cheers!
