Riddleofsteel
I have been in Craterside supplies testing mods for a while, just checking weapons textures etc. My most current save is in Craterside supply. So I finally got things mostly right, and I left the building. When I get outside to Megaton, things look normal but I can't press escape. I can bring up my pipboy, but all the item icons/descriptions are replaced by a bright electric blue square. I went back in to Craterside to see if it was a small glitch, and when I got back into Craterside there are red exclamation marks everywhere. Also, the wall textures change from a plain grey color, to a whiskey bottle label, to an eyeball, and more. I'm pretty crushed about this, as it took me about a week to get my mods downloaded and textures perfected. The only way I could get out of the game was by pressing control-alt-delete and killing the task. I know it's a long shot, but does anyone perhaps know what causes this, and how I can fix it? I've been going through my mod list and disabling possible culprits and testing but so far I haven't been able to fix it. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. TGBlank
So, i assume you got back into the game, and still got the bug?. Reseted pc, started fallout, and still bug, right? And also tried with saves a lot earlier (without loading the new ones first in that session), right?. If so, disable all esps (that don't add perks) and rename the meshes, textures & menus folders to something like meshes2, textures2....And start the game again.if the problem is still there, then yep, you killed the game. If not, start enabling by batches.
Riddleofsteel
To avoid further problems, I am going to re-install. I have a few questions, is it possible to use the Operation Anchorage and The Pitt plugins if I don't patch the game? Also, the unofficial fallout 3 patch which I was using says it should only be used with version 1.1. Should I only patch to 1.1 or not at all? Last, where is the best, most all encompassing load order help guide on the net? Thanks very much for your reply.
TGBlank
yes, use the fake 1.4 patch or 1.4 patch if you use fose, foip.
Riddleofsteel
Okay. So if I use FOSE or FOIP plugins I want want to use the official 1.4 patch? I am looking at the page for the fake patch and it says its FOSE compatible... Also, are you saying I shouldn't use the unofficial patch at all? Thanks. TGBlank
you SHOULD use the unofficial patch. You made 3 questions, i gave 3 comma-separated answers.
