grandpauj1
Like I said before this will never make the Nexus. First off there are plenty of Vault mods out there already, Built by MUCH more qualified modders. This is a learning project for me, All though it did get a little more complex then I had originally planned, But I just couldn't bring my self to build a two room box. The FO3edit does have very "Extensive documentation" And right now I have way too much other $#!t going on in my life to look thru it. Once things settle down, I'll check it out, But for now I will just keep pluging along. Again I say ment thanks. And I'm sure "I'll be back"
lorenzo19
I am not a guru or anything, but if the GECK is creating DUPLICATES of anything is because two different forms have the same Form name in two different esp or esm. The GECk will let you duplicate form names all day long and save them but as soon as you reload them into the GECK you going to get errors and it will change some of the form names and save then to the esp without asking you (if you click yes, I think, never tried clicking no). Also, you cant use an object, created initially by an esp, in another esp. The GECK will let you do that all day long and not error. But when you load the game the objects wont be there, at best, maybe crash. But if the object is crated initially by an ESM, then modified by an esp, all the other esp will use the modified object (assuming no other esp mods the same form) *Also, you cant use an object, created initially by an esp, in another esp.* Just to be perfectly clear... You cant use the object in ANY way. Not in a list, script, condition, render window, nothing. There might be some special cases where you can get away wit it, (GECK is loaded with special cases) but just to be totally safe... don't use them at all. grandpauj1
@ Lorenzo19. I went to FO3Edit and changed the ESP in to a ESM. I have placed everything From assault rifles (from a few different mods) to toilet paper. I have been to, Left and returned to the vault several different times and all is still right where I placed it. I'm not sure what you are trying to say, But I did it and It worked. Now as far as the "Duplicate" thing I'm not sure what you mean about that either. I have narrowed it down to when it happens. I tried to use a Blank door mod by making two ESPs active at once, I thought that was how it was done. After I saved on the GECK I went to the game, And the doors were not there, Then went back to the GECK that was when I noticed it. I have learned thats not how to do it. So now even after changing it in FO3EDIT, If I try to load it (the blank door) I get the "Duplicate cell" but that is the only time I get it. So for now I will use the VDoorSliding02, Looks kinda silly, but better than the wrong number on the door.
blove
You can change the flag back on your ESP master when you have finished editing your plugin. It will still always need to load before your plugin since it is now a master to your plugin. If you do not change the flag back, it will load after your ESMs and before any other ESPs regardless of how you arrange your load order.
grandpauj1
@ Blove So are you saying I should, Or I can. If I should, do I just need to go to the FO3Edit and uncheck the box? As far as the load order goes, It does not seem to be a problem as far as I can tell.
blove
You can and in most cases probably should just so you can move it around in your load order. Just untick the flag in FO3Edit.
grandpauj1
Ok will give it a shot. Also You and every one else talk ALOT about "load order", Can you recommend a good tutorial on how to do that. Seems like there are hundreds of them on the net and hundreds of ways to do it. For that matter the name of a person doing them that is smart enough to do them right. I watched one on placing X-Markers, It worked fine, But after going thru and giving every one of them (13or 14) a "Unique Name", I found out later from a bethsoft video that was not necessary. The Bethsoft ones seem to be good, But the only ones I have found from them are "How to" and not "What if". Keep in mind I am not a Geek as it were, More of a Ge (WINK). Thanks for the help
blove
BOSS by The BOSS Development Team would be a good start to fix up your load order. GECK Wiki and CIPCIS Scripting from Beginners are noteworthy for getting you started modding.
