soulblazek
I know lots of us like to spread things thin, but here's a few ideas for more L20 perks. The main idea is to draw you to one play style, as most of us do anyway. Chameleon Skin(Sneak 100) (Agi 8+?)Exposure to the radioactive wastelands has had an unusual effect on your epidermis. While sneaking, your character can now blend in with the surrounding area, granting 50% camoflage (stealth boy effect). As a result of this, your sneak attacks will also deal 25% (50%?) more damage, however, when not sneaking around, you do 10% (15? 20? 30%?) less damage overall. This one is just because sneak -fails- miserably IMHO. Ninja makes it better, but it's still ridiculously hard to sneak up on monsters, even with 100 sneak while crawling through the darkness with no armor on. Headhunter(Small guns 100)You've recognized your forte: shooting someone in the head at 1500 feet. When in VATS mode, head shots are much easier, and have a tendency to decapitate your target on the first shot. (75% chance it's a one-shot kill). Outside of VATS, any weapon classified as a small gun will do 10% more damage, have a 15% increase in critical chance, have a significantly enhanced rate of injuring limbs, and have a significant boost to range. Not being directly on the battlefield has it's lows, however. Your max health has been reduced by 25% (50%?), and your AP has been reduced (only to the point of where something like, say, the Sniper rifle, which eats a lot of AP, can only be used one time -- one shot, one kill) People focus small guns for either the shotgun or the sniper rifle. This gives the sniper rifle a fun reason to use it again, even without manual aiming. Rambo Reborn!(Heavy Guns 100)You know what you like -- big explosions, lots of blood, and guts flying around everywhere. You love big weapons, in a big way. While using a big gun, damage output is increased by 15% (25%?) and VATS requires less AP to use heavy weapons. Certain big weapons will also have 'other' effects as well (Flamethrower can spit napalm as alt-fire, igniting them and devouring their HP as they burn to death, missile launcher has a MASSIVE knockback/lock-on, Fat Man throws them into the air, Minigun causes them to spasm as it tears their body up, etc.) Your body is also tougher from using those big weapons (+DR, no HP drain when you use flamethrower, etc). As a result of your lust for the huge weapons, your aim and damage with those dinky little toys is decreased (small guns do little damage, energy weapons do little damage, unarmed does next-to-nothing). +Utility to heavy weapons I'm the Juggernaut, *****!(Unarmed 100), (Str ?, End ?)That's right, you are the living, breathing, walking Juggernaut. While using this perk, your unarmed damage is boosted 25%, critical rate boosted 15%, damage resistance increased by 25 (50%?), and movement speed is increased by 15%. Your bare fists will also gain a bonus 20 damage, but only while no glove weapon is equipped. Armor and weapons will no longer slow you down, as well. As the Juggernaut, though, you don't play with pop guns anymore. All other weapons suffer a 35% damage decrease, 25% accuracy loss, and break at a faster rate. lulzunarmedfun. I hate the fact that it's sometimes VERY difficult to get in their face, despite them wearing armor and carrying a gun, and me in clothes for maximum movement speed. They can still outrun me... while moving backwards. Buck Rogers is my Hero!(Energy Weapons 100)You loved the TV show when you were growing up, and now you fancy those weapons! Enemies with less than 30 DR (meaning they're wearing silly armor, like raider armor, or are animals) have a 50% chance of melting into a pile of goo per hit. Your damage with energy weapons is increased by 10% for those who haven't melted, and critical rate is increased by 25%. All other weapons suffer 25% damage reduction, 15% critical decrease, and 15% accuracy decrease. Go melt those faces! Let's be real -- if they're wearing leather and clothes for armor, a plasma rifle should incinerate their body in a single hit. Even a laser rifle should shred their arm off in a single hit. Gornak the (Reborn) Barbarian!(Melee weapons 100)You like to take big hammar and squish things into... squishy... smaller things. Melee weapons do 50% more damage and variate effects depending on where you hit (arm causes them to drop their weapon, head causes them to fall down, torso causes them to be winded, legs causes them to fall). You also move 25% faster while wielding a melee weapon, but 10% slower when holding anything else. Non-melee weapons also do 25% less damage and have a reduced accuracy and crit rate. Since level 20 is the cap for (some of) us, you only get to pick one of these (though it's really only worth it to pick one, as picking more than one will only yield the utility of some of them -- the negs will kill your damage bonuses)
TGBlank
Implementing this is not a small chore.Chameleon skin: chameleon effect means you'll look like under the effect of stealth boy all the time, which can get quite boring after a while without the ability to toggle it, not to mention YOU LOSE YOUR FRIGGIN HAIR (reason #1 why i don't use stealth boys). Furthermore, why tinker your brain to implement this plus a toggle when you have OA's armor?.The extra critical damage is nice tho. But the penalty is far too severe (since the first half of the perk is moot).Sneaking is already too easy on the game, specially with dlcs that give you both a silenced sniper/assault rifle and an invisibility suit. Headhunter: Vats entry points for perks are broke, so workarounds are needed, decapitating shot is annoying to implement but feasible, I do not know if the enhanced rate of injuring limbs is worth the trouble, not to mention doable.Boost of range is a joke, you can hit anything in sight range with any pea-shooter, for the same damage as close range. If you miss, blame it on the crappy auto-aim, can't solve that.Perk sounds fun overall for field trips, but in any dungeon it is a disadvantage, and dungeons are often more populated than the field. The ap restriction would also render you into a sitting duck if you have more than say, 8 foes. I have seen 2 dozens with certain mod combinations. Rambo Reborn!:Heavy weapons + VATS = fail. Rockets miss, minigun misses and seems to shoot less, fatman fails, flamer does less damage.. do i need to go on?. Alternate fires are a pain to implement, and while doable, they don't translate very well to other mods.Damage boost and perhaps bigger explosions are the only real ways to go with big guns. VATS is for the pansies that use little toy pistols. <-- THAT is the big gun's spirit. Juggernaut:Normal unmodded clothing doesnt affect speed, there's also no way to prevent modded clothing to affect moving speed. Extra DR is moot, hitting 85 doesn't require much effort. If you want real unarmed fun, add knockback effect. Buck Rogers is my Hero!:Under most conditions, you should already be moping the floor with raiders by this point. Tho the effect is not entirely impossible to do. Gornak:different effects depending on where you hit, specially that complex, you can forget about them. Other than that, sounds fun.Again, knockdown effects are the real fun for melee.
