Tony the Wookie
ok, so I just re-installed Fallout 3, so it is exactly the way it is on the disk I installed it in C:\Fallout 3 poo\Fallout 3 to avoid Windows Vista security I added FOMM and ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated I got the latest Fallout 3 patch and downloaded the GECK the only DLC I have is The Pitt ------ I go to the GECK and open up Fallout, go to the Races and duplicate Caucasian, so now I have CaucasianCOPY0000 I go to the 'Text Date' tab and change the name to Caucasian 2, I don't change anything else I hit ok and then save the file as 'Test 1.esp' I close the GECK and click on my disk drive to open Fallout 3, I click on 'Data Files' and select 'Test 1' I started a new file in case there was something wrong with the one I was useing, and I went through the baby thing and choose my race as 'Caucasian 2' and as soon as I hit the done button, the screen goes black and I get a windows message saying Fallout 3 has stopped working... I have to pull up the Task Manager to get my screen unfrozen I also tried this from the screen at the end of Vault 101 and got the same results... ------ If anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to fix it, I would greatly appreciate it I have got other things in the GECK to work, such as changeing the body type of one race to a custom body type while leaving the rest as generic, so I know the GECK is working right, but I need to be able to make new races in order to complete the mod I am planning... ------ I am also getting this message whenever I click on the 'Full" square next to preview, but it doesn't seem to affect anything http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/3765/39367946.jpg
Skotte
What your problem is that you don't have any preset npc's, Fallout hates that. just select a few npc's you like the look of change the race to the new race, checkmark the "is Chargen Face Preset" box then save as a new form ID (best save this as part of the race mod ie 'Test 1.esp'). I'd reccomend doing both male & females I hope I made it easy enough to understand And I get that body mod error alot as well, imho it's just the geck not finding it outside of the .bsa files I'd leave it alone though.
