wfandrews
Would keeping the refresh rate at 60hz on my monitor and capping my fps at 60 affect play in FNV? I play the Elder Scrolls games on a regular basis so when I play FNV, which I enjoy very much, I just leave my monitor and fps the same. Lately though I have been having problems when I start a new game or play for some hours on a game that played well but then started to have problems. It is hard to describe. The other day I played and my game was running smooth as silk for some hours. I forget the reason now but I decided to start a new game, I am one of those people who are constantly starting a new game, often for the smallest of reasons. Anyway the game was unplayable, constant crashes. I play a GOG game so it is easy to erase the game and everything related to it and start with a vanilla game, which I did. Still could not get it right. Back to my original question. I noticed in NVTF that there was a recommendation to play at a higher fps, 90 or 110. I was wondering whether this could be a reason for my game seemingly inevitably starting to crash. I realize this is a rather rambling and almost incoherent post, but I really have been having a problem with game play after re starting that first game and I just cannot find a reason for it. I am quite sure it is not mod related, although I certainly could be wrong. I am grasping at straws here and am hoping that my first sentence could be a cause if it does affect game play over a period of time. I usually have no problems until I get to Primm and then everything goes to hell.
JimboUK
That would be fine, Vsync will cap it for you so you don't need to cap it anywhere else.
wfandrews
I changed my monitor to 100hz and my fps was 100 in game but my resolution took a dive, I got faded areas in Doc Mitchell's floor. The same with 85hz monitor. My monitor goes from 24,to 60, to 85 to 100, to 120, to 144hz. Any way to fix that?
