Rens Beuty Pack problem

Paladin Mage

Recommended Posts

yea so rens beuty pack is installed and it is active in game but when i go to choose the mystic elf race theres no face and the backgrounds all messed up. if i choose to go with that race than that character has pinkish-purple skin,no face only the mouth and ears. And also when if i choose one of the hairstyles for another race it doesnt use that hairstyle but the hair that came b4 it(for ex. u go backwards through hairstyles and the last game hairstyle is cropped,it will use that for all of rens hairstyles)and also sometimes my character will be bald after going through the ren hairstyles for awhile. so some help would be appreciated.

No face and pinkish purple skin means: you didn't install mod correctly(missing head meshes and skin textures). Looks like meshes and textures are not in place.

First, extract archive file to some temporary folder, then examine directory structure of extrated files. They should be like:

(plugin file)

(readme file)

\meshes

\textures

Then, copy them to: (your game directory)\data.

If it asks 'overwrite it?', just click 'yes' or 'yes to all'.

The problem as stated by others is quite likely the way you installed the mod and I've come across the problem more than just a few times. Installing the mods right can be a bit confusing for those who are into modding for the first time, so I scrapped up a file/folder structure "tutorial" quite a long time ago, which I've been using from time to time;

When you've extracted the mod out of the archive, copy/paste the contents to your oblivion folder and check that your folder setup inside Oblivion\Data-folder is EXACTLY like I'm showing below this paragraph. When checking your folder setups, make sure it's 100% identical to what it was in the .rar/.7-zip/.ace file, while following the below mentioned format.(Eg. possible subfolders for textures etc. But under no circumstances should there ever be a duplicate of the parenting folder, eg. Data\Data, Textures\Textures, you catch the drift.):

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data --> All esps here.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Textures --> Folders containing .dds and _n.dds files go here.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Meshes --> Folders containing .nif files go here.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Sound --> Folders containing any sound(.wav, .wma etc.) or .LIP files go here.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Music --> Folders containing any music files go here.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Video --> .bik files go here, these are pretty much the animations in the game.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\Shaders --> .FX files and .SDP(Session Description Protocol.) files go here. No mods should edit these.

X:\xxxx\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion\Data\DistantLOD --> .lod files go here.

On a side note; You probably won't have most of these folders there during your first few mod installs, but it's good to know how the folder setups go and where all the files belong.
