iamtimmytheboy
If Fallout is so close to Oblivion then why the heck doesn't it snow or rain and thunder like it does in Oblivion? I miss that stuff.
Skotte
1) It could be because the game engine probably didn't handle rain so well. Oblivion didn't handle very well either ( rain going through open structures. 2) the Fallout earth is typically on the dry side.
Rockdude3
Also, when you think about it, there's still a lot of radiation in the water on the ground, so it would just be acid rain evey time. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to have to hide in a concrete structure underground everytime it rained  And the rain going through the buildings has nothing to do with the engine, it's the dummies of the models. UncleRoe
Yeah i searched fallout 3 a long time ago hoping to find some rain weather i could add but no luck. As you guys said earlier, i figured it was probally not implemented because it would just be a pain taking cover everytime it rains so i could avoid being gooified from acid rain..would make super mutant battles a little harder too. Snow on the other hand is avaliable if you have the anchorage DLC. along with snowy landscapes.
user
What I'm wondering is why you can't catch diseases and why nobody seems to mention this in the comments or forum http://thenexusforums.com/style_emoticons/...lt/wallbash.gif

Although Fallout is somewhat closer to reality , this could be cool, catching something like common cold or flu isnt really a priority.

I think, in game time, the entire adventure takes place in less than a month. And, I think the date on my Pip-Boy was August. So, August in DC. How much would it rain? Also, you have to figure the nuke war would have screwed up the weather patterns. As far as diseases go, that would be a major can of worms. Think about it. You go from a theoreticaly sterile environment (the vault) to the outside world. You could die from a cold. And who knows what you could catch from a super-mutant.
