Shidentora
Which postapocalyptic/post-nuclear etc. movie you'd recommend to a modder for its inspiration value?Let's start with...Ummm...YEA, with the Chernobyl Diaries. CAUTION!Could be depressive to some, and is definitely a sad one.Not to be watched before sleep.VERY instructive... EXTREMELY instructive. Dear Duchesses Nukemas and Duke Nukems,Chernobyl Diaries: PS: just a trailer, ya gotto buy it. Edited October 17, 2013 by Shidentora
Ladez
Meh, I found Chernobyl Diaries to be extremely cliche. The beginning had promise as do a lot of horror movies, but the end was a let down. Personally I'd recommend movies such as Mad Max, The Road, The Book of Eli, A Boy and His Dog and Children of Men. Seriously, if you want a depressive movie, then put on The Road. When it's done you'll be sucked dry. Other ones I've watched recently and liked are Doomsday and The Divide, but they don't carry the same impact, although The Divide can be quite horryfying. Ladez
why cliche? I didn't find anything like the Chernobyl Diaries. I mean, about ppl lost in the Zone.I guess the whole thing about a group of young people going to some forsaken place and getting killed off one by one is just getting kind of old. It's been a couple months since I saw the movie so I can't tell you specifics. The thing I did like about the movie was the location. The Chernobyl area is kind of fascinating because of what happened there and the things that have been left behind.
bjornl
The obvious one is Mad Max, despite it having all those cool vehicles. Other then that I think Firefly (minus the space ship) since it too blends future tech with a western feel. Several of the But given that most of the tech and all is mostly older (50ish in style with a few exceptions) I'd say most any decent western. Hang 'em high, High Plains Drifter, Unforgiven, Tombstone, no country for old men, just about everything from Clint Eastwood or John Wayne...A couple of the Steampunk movies would work very well with the mix of victorian era and very high tech (done strangely). Ladez
Hell yeah, I was thinking of mentioning Firefly as well, but didn't for some reason. Anyone who hasn't watched that series is missing out. There's also a mod that adds some Firefly weapons to New Vegas. Another one I'd recommend is Jericho, even though it starts off badly. It picks up towards the end of season one though. There's only a few episodes in season two, but at least it got an actual ending with come closure. You can't say the same for most shows like this. For some actual Fallout stuff, check out Nuka Break, a fan film by the guys at Wayside Creations, they're geniuses. They made a web series too, and season two is realeasing October 28th. Hell, they even made a second fan film called Red Star with a much more serious tone. Highly recommended.
