jwstefanick
. . . is what I seem to need! Is there a source out there that gives almost a step by step guide to creating a mod? Like creating characters, or clothing items? I've downloaded the GECK thing, but the tutorial on the website flies right over my head and doesn't seem to cover how to create a character or clothing. Any help would be much appreciated!
ArekkusuStorm
Creating stuff in the Geck actually isn't all to complicated to do. As for a tutorial, I personally haven't used any provided on the geck site. I wanted to create a follower and found a tutorial for that and just learned on my own from there. If you want to create a new armor, in the objects window, expand the items category > armor > rightclick the area on the right with all the listed armors and choose to create a new one OR edit an existing one and change the editor ID and name so when you press "ok" you can choose to add a new form. After that you can just edit the mesh, damage threshhold, etc to fit your needs. Same with a new character by going into the "Actors" category > npc > rightclick the area on the right again. Note: This is obviously just the basic stuff, I'm not sure if you're looking to add voice and dialogue to the NPC.) When you want to put it into the world then, in the cell view, choose what area you want to put it in and rightclick > view (the window above will look like a bird's eye view of the area) > click + drag the new item you created in the object window (find it first) to the area you opened up earlier and it will look like it's floating more than a few meters in the sky or through the ceiling, press f to level it. Make sure you save often. Edited October 17, 2013 by ArekkusuStorm
