PA training, and Power armor in General

Wanted to ask here if folks have done mods like the one i found by Claw ? . . Here is my Comment about it

Wanted to ask if anyone has done a mod like this, but maybe less bonuses ?

Always find alotta folks here wanna really boost the enclave armors, and gimp all the BoS armors, kinda annoying when you consider the armors in relation to each other make sense . . enclave is ABIT more advanced, this shows with the reduced AGL penilty. The BoS armor is abit older, but does have a better STR bonus. The T-51b armor shows a real advancement in having abit better resistance, and the refinement.

Any idea if a mod like this could be done to just, Say . . Negate the armor weight for having the perk ? if you must, maybe add 5 AP when using power armor ? would leave the armors themselves alone? make it so Yes, you can wear it without the perk, but, you move akwardly ?

Sounded like it also had a conflict with OA ? I have seen alotta the mods that change the Armors themselves, but this one changing the training really seemed appealing. Anybody played around with this sorta thing ? felt it was a good soft-option, giving PA that needed effect of " RAWR ! ! POWER ARMOR ! ! ! " without changing the armors. Also like that Yes, you could pound around in it without the training, but, it's heavy, and you move akward , always feels slower. Gives a good reason why few folks use it, without the proper training with the stats in the game as they are. Please any comments and Ideas ? Would really love if a Modder type knew how to throw this together ? ? and put it up out there ? :thanks:

I think the enclave armor used in FO3 is worse then the one in FO2 (compared with the T51) is that it simply has been striped, to not be so cumbersome in the Urban environment.

Possably, or maybe when we see the APA in FO2 thoose are original units? The ones we see in FO3 are more like a production-grade model ? Like the T-series were from one Corp, the APA another ?

Still do agree it is abit silly folks can't just put it on , why i asked about a possable mod ? Though, i'm guessing changing a perk like that on a gobal scale is hard to do ? Haven't seen the mod i posted about updated :wallbash: Anything to help? ? :thanks:

Since nobody answered it yet.

In the GECK you have a "power armor" check box, when marked that means without a having certain flag your character cannot equip it.

The so called "Power Armor Training" simply sets the flag, it does nothing else.

In simple terms, its hard coded, you cannot easily change it without unchecking that box first for every single power armor and then create some kind of replacer to the perk.

Also Bethsoft really drop the ball when it come to Power Armor as what we see in the game is ridiculous underpowered, its not plate armor and even if people could complain about how it was the "end all" of Armor ... lets say there is a reason why modern armies no longer use crossbows and full plate armor.

I suppose the reason why people go around and change the stats is because they already have to modify it anyway so why add further modifications? I do not agree with many of those changes (for example, the "Tesla Power Armor" should be a Adv. Power Armor Mk.II with the extra protection of a Tesla Armor kit and not a new armor that gives extra strength or something on those line since its pretty much a normal APA MK.II were a Tesla Kit was applied, not a new type of armor).

Oh , there would be no-way using the Geck to redefine the check box ? So that, it checks for the perk, and if present, it functions differantly than if it is not ? Maybe i'm over-working it ? . . . and yes, they did seem to really belittle PA , though i can see in some ways why. Just too bad they kinda went overboard, then overdid the enclave stuff abit too, that new hellfire stuff is just insane :yucky: . You also mention a Replacer ? , this a form of over-ride ? Would love to hear more on this, if folks are wanting to talk more? :thanks:

There's a mod on the nexus that allows you to wear power armour from the start, but if you get the training it improves the armour by quite a lot. So you can wear it and get the armour bonus and so on, but you also get some penalties because you've had no training in using the suit properly. Getting the training removes the penalties and improves the stats a bit, something like that anyway. 'tis pretty nifty :)
