LinkesAuge
If you think your case is bad, check fook's comments. 80% are people who didn't read the first line of the installation instructions and didn't got archiveinvalidation invalidated. that's why i have stopped to give any kind of support in the comments and also ignore all pm's i get regarding bugs/problems etc. (i have to clean my message folder every 2nd day :/ ). The comment section is kinda a mess and gets abused for technical support and thats rly not for what it was made. Another reason why i work on a new FOOK website with a better forum to properly handle these things. I'm glad that there are ppl like you who actually do help ppl with their issues but if i'd do that i'd hardly get the time to actually mod. Guess i have to look for some more team members especially in the support department. ^^ FOOK is anyways gonna be a lot more professional in future. I'll have my own server for downloads (and will host my files only there cause the nexus file size limit is kinda annoying as well as the fact that there is no way to sort your downloads) and FOOK will also come with an installer (you will be able to pick which parts of FOOK are gonna be installed) making the whole procedure easier for ppl. Riddleofsteel
Hi Linkes, If I was able to help you with giving support I would gladly do it, but I had nothing to do with the creation of the mod so I lack the knowledge. Still, if you need help let me know.
LinkesAuge
90% of the problems ppl have got nothing to do with the actual mod, its just a lack of knowledge about installation procedures with Fo3 mods. Anyways, i'll start a thread in a couple of days in which i'll look for some new additions to the team and requirements as well as a description to what we are looking for will be given in there. Yossarian22
I am soooooo feeling with you... - Every day the same dump questions, that are mostly inside my readmes... - PM's from People, that ask me to explain PDF Files - People given bad ratings, coz they dont read the readme - People given bad ratings, coz they not even able to install an autoinstalling FOMOD - People given bad ratings, coz their load order is a mess or they have a broken PC Oh Lord, its just purified horror. I think mostly all bigger mods have this problems...
SickleYield
Funny thing is that I had no idea I was MAKING a bigger mod when I did RMF3. I was thinking, "Hey, there are no male bodies in FO3. I bet Robert will let me convert his over." I figured it would be like UF3, used by me and maybe five others from CI (which is a forum with a small, mostly adult population). And LinkesAuge, you are completely right. I'm tired enough of hearing it that soon I'm going to start just deleting the PMs instead of answering them. These guys can't even be bothered to read pinned threads with titles like "HOW TO INSTALL MODS." :P
TGBlank
- People given bad ratings, coz they not even able to install an autoinstalling FOMOD*chuckle* :teehee: Good thing my crappy 2 mods haven't got that much attention then.
LinkesAuge
I know it can be frustrating but you always need to keep in mind that the percentage of ppl that will comment is much higher for those that experience issues or don't have a clue about how things work. Also many ppl are rly just looking for help and mod installation in Fo3 is rly not the easiest thing with all the esp stuff etc. Still doesn't change the fact that i can't be a support department and do modding at the same time. Noone of us is getting paid for it and thus we can't provide support like we are some kind of game company (not to mention that most of the time they don't have any real support either :D ) so ppl also need to do a bit of own research and put a bit of effort into getting their stuff to run. Well bit of a funny coincidence that i write now about this kinda stuff cause i was today working on an installer to make the whole procedure easier, here a screen of a first test with the new FOOK installer :D : http://fook.homepage.t-online.de/fooksetup.jpg Ignore the names, just placeholders. In the final version you'll be able to pick which parts of FOOK (like main files, retextures, esp's, fook dlc addon's etc.) you wanna install and i'm currently working on making it so that certain other progs can be automaticly downloaded and installed (like FOMM/FOSE). Now i just need to find a way to make the whole esp load order mess easier. @ Sickle: I also never thought that my mod will be a "big thing" when i started it. It is my first serious mod and I'm still kinda overwhelmed by the scope of the mods development. Had to change a lot on how i do things though like it can be seen it has kinda forced me to do the whole mod more professional and my work flow has been organised a lot better than in the beginning so it had also positive effects. ^^
