SilverSix311
Hey guys,I have been troubleshooting this god damn problem for a while now. Basically im getting a problem where the grass is just so freaking bright no matter what i do... Heres No Mods installed and Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini deleted and recreated: http://i.imgur.com/v0W9kxUh.png So heres a picture with only 1 Mod installed, both Skyrim.ini and SyrimPrefs.ini files delete and recreated to make sure there are no bad parameters in the settings. This is what i am dealing with: http://i.imgur.com/U9vOrw9h.png This is a list of all the mods I was using before i started troubleshooting this issue. I did start a new clean install but just incase anyone was curious here they are: http://i.imgur.com/Pj7v1Xx.jpg I appreciate any help i can get.SilverSix311
LargeStyle
So what was the one mod you installed to get the results in the second picture? PS. Don't forget to take a moment out to endorse the mods you like and use - it's a small yet significant "reward" to mod makers.

Rennn
You're not running enough AF. That's one problem, HD texture mods like the Flora Overhaul practically need Anisotropic Filtering. Use at least 8x Anisotropic Filtering and post another screen. If that doesn't help, what settings are your vanilla textures at? If they're not at the highest texture setting, they should be. If i decide to use an ENB, do i have to turn on Antistropic Filtering in order to get this grass to not be so bright? And i have everything at Ultra/High cause the shadows tax my system so those are on High. But basically Im wanting to have the list of mods in that 3rd Picture all turned on. But with with or without CoT and Skyrim Flora Overhaul it seems that my grass is just so freaking bright. If you dont mind you could "" post your ini Settings and i could directly try them to see if that fixes my issue. Rennn
You should always use Anisotropic Filtering, at least 8x. (Don't confuse it with antialiasing though)Every game benefits greatly from it, HD textures just need it even more than normal resolution textures. I don't know if that's what's causing the problem, but it will certainly make the game textures look better with only a very small performance drop. Look at this comparison. Drag the slider to compare no AF (left) compared to 16x AF (right).http://international.download.nvidia.com/geforce-com/international/comparisons/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-tweak-guide/Skyrim-Tweak-Guide-AF-Comparison.html That may not be the only problem, however. The issue isnt nreally a texture problem on dont believe. It seems to be more of a lighting issue with the grass. I did manage to somewhat fix the problem i think. I moved from Skyrim Flora Overhaul Basic edition, to Skyrim Flora Overhaul Summer Edition. The grass seems to look much better. BUT it still basically grows in rainy weather. Im just wondering if there is a fix for this at all. http://i.imgur.com/t9ASlxj.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/qQIr8igh.png
LargeStyle
Technically this bright grass (in the later pictures) isn't broken - it's a design choice from the author of Climates of Tamriel. There's a colour variable within Creation Kit called "ambient" which actually changes certain 3D grass model colours and tree LoD textures too. In my opinion CoTs ambient setting is too bright causing the grass to stand out and not "blend" into the scenery. The only "fix" is to go through however many hundred weather types are in CoT and adjust each ambient setting (has to be changed 4 times per weather type to reflect the time of day). So if i go through and adjust this it would only effect the brightness of the grass? I dont mind doing it, i might just make my own little NMM zip files to prevent me from having to do it again later. Maybe put it on the Nexus. Are there any guides or anywhere you can guide me to find more info on this?
